The magnificent 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Long Wheelbase featured here is finished in flawless Masons Black Lacquer with a gorgeous Ascot Gray leather interior surrounded by magnificent Burled Walnut woodwork throughout. This incredible motorcar is one of very few Silver Cloud III Long Wheelbase models produced without a division window. This stunning motorcar has just been released from an important private Rolls-Royce Collection, where it was beautifully restored and is now ready to drive and enjoy. This owner investment-grade Rolls-Royce is accompanied by its original toolkit, owner’s manual, and original build documents from Rolls-Royce. With extremely low production, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Long Wheelbase is a rare automobile by any measure; they are the last of the separate-chassis cars from Crewe, England, to be built. The Silver Cloud was the last Rolls-Royce manufactured that employed body-on-frame construction; the days of cars being handcrafted by artisans in Crewe are now just a fond memory. However, that care and craftsmanship distinguish them from every other car ever created; the coach-built touches epitomize the style and grace of a classic Rolls-Royce and exemplify it as a rolling sculpture. Offered to the most astute collector investor or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the investment potential of this scarce and sought after motorcar. Ready to make an investment that you can actually enjoy? Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years, with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013, 16% in 2014, and 17% in 2015 while posting gains of 467% over the last 10 years. Please contact one of our expert sales consultants for more information. They will be happy to give you a complete walk-around, supply you with a more detailed description, and answer any questions you may have. Buy with confidence.

For all of you who are not familiar, Rolls-Royce no longer exists as it has for the past hundred years; BMW now owns it, and models are mass-produced. The days of cars being handcrafted by artisans in Crewe are now just a fond memory. This particular car was constructed during a time when Rolls-Royce was building the world’s finest motorcars with care and craftsmanship evident in every detail, and we are proud to offer it to the most astute collector, investor, or enthusiast who appreciates the hand-assembled quality that helped to make Rolls-Royce one of the most prestigious motorcars ever constructed.

HISTORY OF THE ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER CLOUD III

Considered the Silver Cloud series's pinnacle, the Silver Cloud III was unveiled in Paris during fall 1962. The most prominent changes were the inclusion of a four-headlamp layout. Additionally, the radiator grill was shortened, and the bonnet was given a slightly increased slope. An improved interior contributed to the 220lb loss of weight over the Silver Cloud II. The Crewe engineers were able to increase the power to weight ratio by 7% due to an increase in both the compression ratio and the carburetors' size. The Silver Cloud III was the last Rolls-Royce model produced using body-on-frame construction, and the last example was finished by hand at the Crewe factory in 1966. Only 2,044 Silver Cloud III’s were built during the short three-year production run, which was the lowest of all the Silver Cloud Series. The Silver Cloud's quality and craftsmanship helped elevate it from every other car ever built and showed the world how good Rolls-Royce was at producing an artistic masterpiece.
