DETAILED & RECONDITIONED!ONE OF THE FINEST AUTO DESIGNS OF THE
POSTWAR ERA Fords original 1955-57 Ford Thunderbird was a brilliant
and irresistible combination of luxury and sportiness that appealed
to a much larger market than did the early Chevrolet Corvette.
While the next four-seat Square Bird generation was even more
popular, the third-generation 1961-63 Thunderbird, also known as
the Bullet Bird for its sleek, projectile-like profile, remains
quite likely the most visually striking of all. While produced for
just three model years, the Bullet Bird was relentlessly improved
and updated throughout its brief run and it remains immensely
popular with Thunderbird enthusiasts today. Two Thunderbird models
were initially available, comprising the hardtop and convertible
for 1961. Comprehensive standard features included Fords 300 HP 390
CI V-8 engine with 4-barrel carburetion and an automatic
transmission, plus a wide array of comfort, convenience, and
appearance options providing wide scope for personalization.
Wonderful Jet Age design cues included small tailfins, jet
exhaust-style taillight lenses, and a futuristic cockpit-style
interior with integral center console. The convertible was
relatively rare, with 10,516 produced for 1961.Fully detailed and
reconditioned, this captivating 1961 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
features excellent colors comprising glossy Starlight Blue paint
over rich Medium Blue Metallic leather upholstery, complemented by
a power-operated Navy Blue canvas convertible top and chrome wire
wheels mounting period style thin whitewall tires. Options and
amenities include air conditioning, power brakes, power steering,
power windows, power front seat, and radio. The powerful 390 CI V-8
engine and underhood area are all very well detailed and complete
with proper finishes and components. The interior is beautifully
detailed and inviting. The 1961-63 Thunderbird is one of Fords best
and most enduring designs of all. With V-8 power and highly
equipped, this first-year Bullet Bird is a wonderful example
throughout and worthy of the show field or very enjoyable cruising
along your favorite stretch of road. With its futuristic looks, it
