This Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine in the car
is the same one that was installed into the car in the factory in
St. Louis. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine
pad, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to
the car.
We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent
opportunity to own a very desirable classic Corvette Stingray at an
unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for
more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3
"chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot
right now and on the rise. The clear Ohio title states that the
mileage of 27,890 as original and actual and is pictured in this
ad. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and
other information below to get a true sense of how nice this
Corvette really is.

Exterior
The red exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see
in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth finish, and
deep shine. The rally wheels and center caps are in great condition
with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. Please note that this
Stingray has the correct and original 4-clip style beauty rings,
not the cheaper foreign made replacements. The General white letter
tires are literally brand new with less than 10 miles on them. They
are correctly sized 225/70R15. There are a few tiny blemishes
around car and some hairline cracks that were too small to show up
in pictures, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five
feet away. This car has no rust issues, as one can see in the many
photos of the underside and in the video this car is very clean
underneath. The frame is solid around the "key hole" area in front
of the rear tire and we have seen no evident of corrosion around
the windshield or "birdcage" area, which is the most common spots
for rust on a C3 Corvette. We have included specific photos of the
areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.
Window Date Codes
Please note that almost all of the glass on this Corvette, both
"Astro Ventilation" door windows and even the pop-out rear window,
are date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body
build date of December 3, 1970 (E03). Original glass is a good
indication that this car has had no major accident history and
never sustained significant damage.
The exterior looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Interior
The black interior of the Corvette is in outstanding condition. The
seats look almost new with no excessive wear or split seams. The
seats are not worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and
out. The carpet is in also in nice condition overall with no stains
and showing just a small amount of wear. This includes the rear
carpet, which is often neglected. The original radio sounds great
and most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an
aftermarket installation. The door panels are in fantastic
condition, there are no cracks in the typical spot where the
driver's elbow sits. The dash and console are in good shape with no
cracks, fading, or sun damage. The car has an aftermarket radio
that was specifically made for this model Corvette, most
importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for the
installation. The dash and console are in good shape with no
cracks, fading, or sun damage. Please note that both shoulder belts
work and retract properly. The seat belt retractors are a very
common problem on this era Corvette and something most buyers do
not think to check. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there
are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the
excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its
life.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The
original numbers matching engine starts every time, runs well, and
idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at
highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car
accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all
the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite
well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side
or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout the power
band. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. The
car runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment
is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the
photos.
The radio works as do all the exterior lights, dash lights,
indicators, horn, and wipers all work. The a/c works and blows
cold. One can see the compressor turning on and engaging properly
in the video. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds
but high. The entire vacuum system for the headlights and wiper
door works correctly. Please note that the vacuum system work
properly from both the respective switches on the dash and the
override switches. The entire operation from both switches can be
viewed in the video. All of the gauges work with the obvious
exception of the clock. Not enough can be said as to how much of a
pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-Tops out on
a beautiful day.
A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system, we consistently
receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly
what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the
fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all
of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc.,
are working and to make the driver aware of a burned out bulb. Each
lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the
runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small
indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable.
When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic
cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console.
If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp
housing, does any work to the center console, or if there is a
break in a connection or anywhere along the cable, that indicator
no longer works. As one can image, over time this is very
common....for more information please contact the seller.
