This 1971 Chevrolet El Camino does a great job of being an SS
tribute with big block power, an upgraded suspension, and a bold
paint package. Plus, with a well-done A/C interior, it makes it
easy to enjoy this true classic any time you want.
The El Camino is part of one of the most desirable muscle car
bloodlines around, and so it is always going to look attractive in
a bold red. That's especially true when this update later in life
was done with a professional hand. So you not only get the right
color, but also a good gloss and shine to show off the good body
lines. And the white SS stripes only add to this sporty appeal. In
fact, you have all the right performance piece, like the cowl hood,
large dual exhaust tips, and competition-style American Racing Torq
Thrust wheels.
The tan interior is a nice touch for those who like the brighter
interior. It's also for those who like a comfortable experience
thanks to newer items like the carpeting and upholstery. There's
even cold-blowing air conditioning. You also get a grippy NK4 sport
steering wheel and a full round gauge package to help deliver the
proper SS feeling.
The engine bay has a stock and tidy look. The dark inner walls
funnel your attention to the big bright block in the middle. Chrome
valve covers, matching air grabber, good hoses, and factory decals
all make this quite attractive. This 402 cubic-inch motor is even
topped with a proper Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. But as you
look underneath, you'll see that this big block gets to exhale with
added power and authority thanks to long tube headers that feed a
rumbling dual exhaust with Flowmasters. The TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission is a stout unit that feeds a 12-bolt
Positraction rear end, so this was built for big block duty. You
even have an upgraded SS-style rear end with boxed trailing arms
and a sway bar. But more than just a powerful setup, this El Camino
likes to be an easy cruiser, too. That's why you have power
steering, and strong power brakes with discs up front.
Bold looks, a strong big block, and A/C comfort are everything you
want, and so this El Camino delivers it all for a great price. Call
