Vehicle Description
1979 Ranchero GT, In excellent condition, has been in the same
family since it was bought new in 78. Garage kept its whole life.
Just had the engine rebuilt about 2 months ago and haven't put more
than 2,000 miles on it since the rebuild. The following is a list
of all the information about the mechanical condition of the car.
Engine: Is a Ford 351 Cleveland, it's the original engine and ran
good when current owner bought the car, but decided to get it
rebuilt for extra reliability. Had it built from top to bottom with
all new, quality parts and all the bolts were hand torqued to
factory spec by a professional mechanic. Have receipts for all work
done. After the engine was built it was broken in with the proper
procedures and have had the oil changed twice since (once after the
break in and once after about 1000 miles) always run a zinc
additive in the oil that you are supposed to use for older engines
made before zinc was removed from oil because of environmental
regulations. Transmission, is a Ford C6, 3 speed automatic, like
the engine it is the original from the factory. Had the mechanic do
a full service on the transmission with new oil, filter and pan
gasket. As well as replace the cooling lines. Transmission shifts
smooth and on time and doesn't slip at all. Breaks are in good
condition, had them checked out by the mechanic and they still have
a lot of life in them, they provide plenty stopping power and don't
squeak or leak. Body is in excellent condition, paint looks good as
you can see from the pictures, the only thing wrong with the
exterior is the driver side turn signal lenses is missing, it got
damaged while the car was in the shop and have been unable to find
a suitable replacement. Tires are almost brand new and are well
balanced. Steering is excellent. Light, Tight and straight with no
slop on the wheel and doesn't pull to left or right. Interior is
excellent with quality vinyl and leather. Seats, dash, door panels
and headliner like new.
