For Sale: 1962 Chevrolet Impala in Southington, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1962 Chevy Impala

This Roman red, with white hardtop, was manufactured this way in October of 1962 at the Baltimore, MD plant. It was sold into NJ where it stayed until roughly 20 years ago. It is believed that the current owner is the 5th owner of the car.

In the early 90's the third owner of the car had a bunch of work done to the car that included a full repaint. Aside from regular maintenance not much else has been done. The current owner put the Cragar SS wheels on and the 225/70R15 Cavalier SRX radials on her.

She is rust free.

The car has 409 badges on it but it is equipped with a non-original, 1968 sourced 327/300 HP V8, set up with a 4BBL carb and true dual exhaust exiting through the stock manifolds but the only hindrance beyond those are period correct AM Blue Streak glass packs. This car has a very nice throaty rumble and runs out very well as seen in the cold start video. The Muncie 4 speed manual makes it even more fun, rowing through the gears, hearing the revs reach almost redline with each shift. The power heads to the ground via a stock axle/diff with posi-traction.

This is originally a V8, three speed auto (on the column) car but the 4 speed was added when the 1968 engine was. The odometer shows just over 22,000 miles however, it is unknown how many miles are on the engine and transmission. The engine was recently tuned and the compression test showed all cylinders up over 153 psi averaging 160 across all 8.

Over the years the owner has taken her out to many shows and has won quite a few trophies with her. She has been driven though and thoroughly enjoyed, and as such does have a few blemishes here and there. These can be touched up and color corrected. I figure with that and a color sand/polish treatment, the paint will look even better than it does.

The interior is in great shape, some deep cleaning and detailing would bring her up a notch. There is a small crack on the padded dash and the lower section of each door card has some small tears. Both seats and the carpet are in excellent shape.

All the lights work as do the wipers and vents. The options this car came with are tinted windows, power steering and side mirrors. The heat would work but the owner currently has it blocked off as the car was only driven in the summer.

Totally turn key and ready to enjoy as she sits with absolutely no issues. She can also be the very solid basis for a restoration or just a rolling refresh.

Take her home and make her yours for only $24,900.

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest.
