Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful and
exceptionally rare 1990 Corvette Indy 500 "Festival" car in
spectacular condition with only 67,205 miles. This car is #37 of
only 50 Turquoise Corvettes sent by GM to the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway for the 1990 Indy 500.
The Turquoise Metallic (42) over Black Leather (193) color
combination is highly desirable, truly striking, and looks great on
this C4 body style. It is also the correct and original color
scheme as verified by the codes on the service sticker, which is
pictured in this ad. Turquoise Metallic is also a very rare color
with only 589 made for 1990. Besides the beautiful color, this
Corvette is absolutely loaded with sought-after options such as G92
performance axle ratio, dual power sport seats, Delco Bose CD
player, digital climate control, engine oil cooler, automatic
transmission, and much more.
There is also a copy of the AutoCheck report in this ad. The report
is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low
mileage.
The Chevy Beretta was the official Pace Car for the 1990 Indy 500,
but since it wasn't a convertible, Corvettes were used as the
official "Festival Parade" cars for transporting drivers,
celebrities, and dignitaries to different events at the track and
around town. Sources state that there were 50 Turquoise Corvettes
sent to the 1990 Indy 500 as Festival cars and 30 Yellow examples.
An expert on the Festival Cars reviewed this on and said it was
number 37 out of the 50. This car is further verified as an
original and correct "Festival Car" by the RPO code shown on the
service sticker, YE8 which indices this as a Corvette engineering
department test vehicle. All of the Festival Cars have this RPO
code.
The previous owner of this car is a Corvette enthusiast. He owns
many Corvettes and we have purchased many cars from him over the
year. He very recently was driving this car everyday and put a few
hundred miles on it. He said the car was an absolute pleasure to
drive, had no issues at all, and was flawlessly reliable.
The car comes with, two sets of keys and the original owners
manual. We have this Corvette priced to sell and are offering an
excellent opportunity to own a very rare desirable C4 at an
unbeatable value. One could buy this car now and sell it for more
than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C4
Corvettes has really turned the corner and started to rise
recently. C4 Corvettes have gone from simply being older used to
cars to become a collectable classics. This is especially true for
special examples, low mileage, original, unmodified, and premium
cars like this Corvette. Please peruse all of the photos, video,
list of option codes, and other information below to get a true
sense of how nice this Corvette really is.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come
from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give
the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Turquoise Metallic exterior is in excellent condition. As one
can see in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth
finish, and deep shine. Both doors open and shut nicely and the car
exhibits great body panel fit overall. We have seen no paint lines,
overspray or other signs of paintwork at all. The car still has the
original "Indy" decals on the doors that are correct for a Corvette
Festival car. The car also still has the original 3 digit unit
identifier, 199, stickers on the left corner of the windshield. The
aluminum wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish. The
Firestone Firehawk tires have plenty of tread left and are
correctly sized 275/40R17. The convertible soft-top appears to be
original and is in very nice condition overall; the rear window is
not yellowed. As one can see in the many photos of the underside
this C4 is very clean underneath.
Interior
The Black Leather interior of the Corvette is in fantastic
condition. The sport seats look great with no excessive wear. The
seats are not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where
the driver gets in and out, which is very common on C4 Corvettes.
There is one spot on the driver's seat bottom that has been
repaired, but as one can see in the photos it is not very
noticeable. Please note that these are the original seats and
skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers. The gauge faces are clean
and crisp and the lenses are clear. The carpet is in also in good
condition with no stains and some light wear. This includes the
rear carpet, which is often neglected. The factory radio works and
sounds great; most importantly the dash has never been cut or
modified for an aftermarket installation. The dash and console are
in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The jack
handle is still with the car, stored correctly under the driver's
seat. The original spare is also present and has never been used.
This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks
and no aroma of cigarettes.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well,
especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this
all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care
and attention this Corvette has received throughout its life.
Mechanical
This Corvette is in wonderful mechanical condition. As stated above
the previous owner just put a few hundred miles on this car with no
problems at all. The engine starts right away every time, runs
great, and idles smooth. The car drives magnificently and feels
nice on the road and at highway speeds, it drives just as well as
you would expect from a well maintained sports car with low
mileage. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on
the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears,
braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note
that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs
quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to
one side or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout the
power band. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.
Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and
correct as one can see in the photos. The car is completely stock,
has no modification, and it totally unmolested.
Please note in the video the dash warning lights are working; they
light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the
engine is started as they should. There are no "check engine"
lights that stay on. The horn works as do the fog lights,
headlights, brights, turn signals, interior lights, indicators,
wipers, and blower on all speeds. The a/c works and blows cold. All
of the gauges work. The power windows work and go up and down just
fine, but the one window switch can be finicky sometimes. The power
antenna is stuck up. Not enough can be said as to how much of a
pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a
beautiful day.
