Super clean 1988 BMW M3 Coupe for sale. California car since new. Finished in Alpine white with Pearl Beige Leather interior. This is a highly functional, super nice M3 in great shape with a rebuilt engine. It currently has 192,265 miles.
This E30 comes with a salvage branded, California title and has been certified as "Rebuilt" meaning it has passed anti-theft and safety inspections, or other jurisdiction procedures, to ensure the vehicle was rebuilt to required standards. Also, this car has a long history with reputable BMW experts North Bay Bavarian dating back to 1998 when it was stolen and written off as a total loss by the insurance company. The interior and various mechanical items had been stolen. It was then purchased from the insurance auction by the owner of North Bay Bavarian in Santa Rosa. He used it as a track car for approximately 3 years then put back to stock with stock suspension components and a fresh interior and used sparingly for a few years. The car was then sold to the owner of a winery in Napa who used it as a daily driver for the following 10 years. This owner commissioned the new engine installed and built by North Bay Bavarian. The current owner purchased the car approximately 3 years ago using it sparingly for classic rallies and shows. It has been regularly serviced at Northbay Bavarian since the 1990’s.
The rebuilt 2.3L I4 F DOHC M3 powerplant was rebuilt by North Bay Bavarian in 2014 just 10,000 miles ago at a cost of $15,000 and runs beautifully. The manual 5-speed transmission shifts effortlessly and the braking and suspension are tight and responsive.
The Alpine White finish has a nice shine to it and overall the exterior is very presentable. It has a nice set of BBS style 5 wheels wrapped in Dunlap Direzza ZIII 225/45 R16'swith plenty of tread. It has good glass & trim and the exterior lighting is in working order. This M3 shows well. An extra set of extra set of Borbet knock-off M3 basketweave are also available.
Interior is in beautiful condition with super tidy shifter, center console Dash, correct M series steering wheel, sports seats with nice leather and a new set of vintage style Coco mats, front and rear. Headliner is cloth. Door panels and kick panels are all in very nice shape, rugs are in good condition. Inside, car has working RPM gauge, fuel gauge. Windshield wipers are in working condition including washers, blinkers are in working condition though left indicator is not. Both power windows work well. Headlamps, tail lamps and fog lamps are all in working order and the electric sunroof opens and closes easily as designed.
