The 2016 Shelby GT350 is one of the most impressive Mustangs you will find. It offers tremendous performance on all fronts while using some spectacular technology along the way. And considering it only had a 5-year run (2015-2020) and is the last Shelby with a clutch pedal, it is well positioned to be a future collectible.
This pristine 1-owner example has the optional Technology Package and has been driven just 4,700 street miles. The white with blue racing stripes is a fantastic combination and harkens back to the original 1965 GT350 (which was only available in these colors). The GT350 model is further distinguished by a Shelby front splitter, model specific badging, and quad exhaust outlets. This example has also been fitted with a Track Package rear spoiler (original is included). The black 19″ aluminum wheels have been ceramic coated and wear factory Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, with an impressive 295 in front and 305 in back.
The focal point of any GT350 discussion has to be the Voodoo 5.2L engine producing 526 hp at 7500 rpm. As you probably know, this platform was designed with a flat plane crankshaft for a more responsive, higher revving engine. Like you might find in a race car. And with the dual mode exhaust it doesn’t sound like anything else on the road! The engine is followed by a 6-speed Tremec transmission feeding a Torsen limited-slip differential with 3.73 gears. The GT350 also includes track features like launch control and a line lock. The suspension features Ford’s MagneRide damping system, while braking is from multi-piston Brembo calipers with cross-drilled rotors. Modifications include a Ford Performance air filter and air/oil separators (which really should have been there from the factory considering this engine’s high redline). Also note the GT350 oil cooler tube recall has been performed.
The Ebony interior smells like that of a new car and retains much of its factory protective film. The leather and suede sport bucket seats offer optional heating and cooling. The flat-bottom steering wheel is wrapped in leather and Alcantara and frames a 200 mph speedometer, 9,000 rpm tachometer, and multifunction display. There are aluminum accents throughout along with GT350 badging. The Technology Package also includes dual zone climate control and a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and backup camera. This Shelby includes its original window sticker, factory manuals, and all service records since new. It also has WeatherTech floor mats (originals are still in the bag), a fitted car cover, and factory memorabilia including a crankshaft model and VIN labeled oil filter wrench.
The Shelby GT350 is a truly amazing car. It was built to be the best performing Mustang of all time, and it looks the part as well. But this example is still a great street car, and unlike the hardcore track versions, it retains climate control and other benefits of the Technology Package. Amazing performance, mint condition, perfect colors, awesome features, and collectibility - what else could a Mustang enthusiast ask for?
