Vehicle Description
With its big V8, plenty of luxury features, and a timeless color
scheme, this 1964 Ford Thunderbird coupe has an appeal that goes
well beyond its affordable price.
These Thunderbirds had style from brightwork that could be measured
in acres. So it's great to see that this one is so clean and
complete. We love how the front bumper follows the contour of the
angular nose, and the rear one surrounds the wide taillights. Even
the details are correct, like all the large T-bird emblems you see
across the grille, on the distinctive roof pillars, and spanning
the taillights. This has even been rendered in its correct
Wimbledon White. In fact, the only part of this coupe you might
recognize that isn't factory are the wheels. But those later model
Ford alloys have the sophisticated look to ideally go with the car,
and at the same time, they allow you to fit modern cruising
tires.
The interior is a business-like black as this Thunderbird
demonstrates what personal luxury really means. It starts with
everyone getting their own individual bucket seat. These appear to
have been recently reupholstered, so they look great and feel even
better. And while the passengers get separate comfort, the driver
is absolutely the king of this T-bird. A center console was
artfully integrated into the driver-oriented cockpit. It's a very
complete and classic setup. So you even have great factory features
like power windows, power locks, and intricate instruments that are
pure jet-age cool. These are joined by well-integrated upgrades,
like the retro-style AMFM digital tuner and provisions for R134a
air conditioning (likely just needs a recharge to blow ideally cold
again.)
The 390 cubic-inch big block V8 was a great paring with the T-bird,
and this one takes it a step further. It has been upgraded for
better performance, and that includes an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, Edelbrock intake, MSD distributor, and MSD plug wires.
This makes for a strong-running package that feels confident out on
the road. The three-speed automatic transmission, power steering,
and power brakes make it a great cruiser. Plus, the upgraded
Wilwood front discs give you superior stopping power.
This coupe is coming off a dozen years under good garage-kept care,
and the good condition and extra driver appeal really shows this
was a cherished machine. We even have a large maintenance receipt
file to prove it go the right attention over the years. So if you
