at Hennessey Performance and became the supercharged 600 hp

Phantom Black Pearl is the name of the factory color on this car,
and it still looks awesome today. It's because modern cars have

the V8-powered super-sedan. It was certainly made in the American
muscle car tradition, but initially only offered to Australia. When
GM finally sent it over, it only lasted a few short years because
only performance car lovers understood what it meant to have a
bow-tie that could beat up a BMW M-Series...and that was just in
stock form. The Hennessey badging is tastefully subtle, but we all
know it means something quite special on this SS (more on that in a
moment.)
Step inside where the premium upholstery continues the car's dark
attitude, while at the same time, adding in plenty of luxury. This
is best seen on the black leather seats with Alcantara inserts.
They have terrific detail, right down to the red stitching and SS
embroidery on the seatbacks. Plus, these 8-way power adjusting
buckets up front mean you and you passenger get to individually
dial in your ideal seating position. There's a ton of modern
features, including dual zone automatic climate control, keyless
entry, power windows, power sunroof, power locks, power steering,
cruise control, tilt wheel, dual front airbags, side airbags,
parking sensors, and heated/cooled seats. The factory AM/FM/XM/CD
infotainment system is a touchscreen that also includes Bluetooth.
The big back seat space of this full-size sedan means it can also
double as a practical family machine, but really, this is all about
the driver. You get a leather-wrapped steering wheel, full gauge
package, and head-up display so you don't have to ever take your
eyes off the road ahead.
What made the SS so awesome is that they came right from the
factory with Chevrolet's street-eating 6.2-liter LS3 V8. While a
modern fuel-injected 415 horsepower sedan was good enough for most
enthusiasts, you can instantly see that this ultra-tidy engine bay
has something quite special going on. The masters at Hennessey
Performance upgraded it with a 2.9-liter supercharger...and it's
only the start of the full Hennessey treatment. It also includes a
Hennessey (HPE) air induction system, high flow fuel injectors,
fuel system upgrade, custom HPE pulley, and a full Hennessey w/dyno
tuning. And the plaque under the hood even identifies this a #4 out
only a batch of 100! The full package upgrades this to a 600 hp
machine! While this really brings back memories of the best Chevy
muscle cars, don't forget that this is still a very modern machine.
