modern ?Baby Benz;? it resembled a shrunken version of the
successful mid- and full-size sedans the company was known for
worldwide. The 190E has recently become very desired and
collectible because of its German sport sedan status, original and
low mileage examples such as this 190E have become extremely hard
to find! This example was made in Germany in July 1990 and came
with the following options ? sunroof, anti-lock brakes, power
antenna, power front bucket seats, cruise control, driver?s side
airbag and more. Sold new at Crown Eurocars, St. Petersburg Florida
and was a one family owned car until 2019. Only has 46,000 actual
miles and is in stunning overall original condition! You will be
hard pressed to find another example this nice! Dressed in it?s
original Arctic White (code 147U) with light grey lower body
cladding, the car?s paint and trim are in very good overall. The
bodywork is up to the usual bank-vault standards one expects from a
modern Benz. The engine bay is extremely tidy, the battery looks
good, the trunk is in very good order and has floor mats. The 190
has Mercedes? trick monoblade wiper system; it covers 86 percent of
the windshield compared to a simple, single arc wiper. This Baby
Benz wears Michelin Energy MVX4 Plus radials, size 195/65R15. Each
one is mounted on a factory alloy wheel and all tires and wheels
are in very good order. Under the counterbalanced hood is a 2.6L
SOHC inline six-cylinder with Bosch KE-Jetronic Multi-point fuel
injection system and electronic ignition. This was an up-level
option to the base 2.3L four-cylinder engine. Backup the six-pot
motor is a gated four-speed automatic transmission (code
4G-Tronic). Driver convenience features include electronic climate
control, power steering, power disc brakes with anti-lock (code
470), cruise control (code 444), power windows, power adjustable
front bucket seats (codes 221 and 222), sunroof (code 412),
exterior temperature indicator, fog lights and power antenna (code
531). Recent service work includes fuel pump and filter, spark
plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor plus serpentine belt.
Inside, the car has a grey M-B Tex interior (code 178). The front
buckets and rear bench are in original excellent condition with
matching carpet and wood veneer in the center stack to add an
element of warmth. The gray headliner looks great, too. A
leather-wrapped, four-spoke steering wheel looks great, along with
its matching leather-wrapped gearshift lever. There?s a crack in
the trim that surrounds the instrument cluster, which has a full
array of VDO gauges. Otherwise, the instrument panel and inner door
panels are in excellent order. The center console with its shift
lever help complete the interior. The W201 introduced a five-link
rear suspension subsequently used in E and C class models, front
and rear anti-roll bars, anti-dive and anti-squat geometry?as well
as airbags, ABS brakes and seatbelt pretensioners. Its extensive
use of light-weight high-strength steel enabled it to withstand a
concrete barrier offset crash at 35 mph without serious passenger
injury or cabin deformation. Competition to this MB 190E in 1991
included Acura?s Integra, Audi?s 80 2.8E, BMW?s 325, Buick?s
Skylark LE, Honda?s Accord EX, Mitsubishi?s Galant, Nissan?s
Stanza, Oldsmobile?s Cutlass Calais International Series, Pontiac?s
Grand Am LE and Toyota?s Camry LE. Documentation includes original
owner?s manual, original operator?s guide, 1991 service guide,
original owner?s service and warranty information, original
supplemental restraint system booklet, factory stereo guide,
original 24-hour roadside assistance guide and more. If you?re
looking for a classic Mercedes sleeper, this car might just fill
the bill. Small and unassuming, the six-cylinder adds a dash of
power plus all of the qualities Mercedes is known for ? solid body,
German engineering, decent fuel economy in this version and enough
