Vehicle Description
The Ford Fairlane has a long history with six different generations
that saw drastic measures and setups with each change. They were a
great vehicle for the family with their wagon and 4DR versions and
then the sportier 2DR's allowed customers to push it to the
limits.
This very well cared for 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 with the 289 V8 is
a joy to drive and may look very tame but has some good power and
same engine as the Mustang of the era. These were reliable, safe
and nice looking for a wide range of clients. The car was sold new
out of Decatur Georgia and remained in the South its entire life
and the body shows very well. Vehicle starts up with simplicity and
the vehicle drives smoothly down any road and gets up to highway
speeds pretty easy. The 3spd Automatic is smooth and precise and
all the gauges were working properly during our test drive. Lights,
blinkers, wipers, heat and AM radio were all functioning properly
as well.
The interior is well preserved and the vinyl seats are in great
shape along with great carpet, headliner, wood trim and trunk
space. Under the hood the V8 roars with life and begging to be
pushed to show what it can do. This begs to be driven more and
enjoyed as the previous owners only stored it mostly and put very
few miles on this car over the years. These are inexpensive and fun
cars to drive and enjoy. Vehicle comes with some service records,
two sets of keys, original owner's manual and jack and spare. Going
to any local car show will allow you to showcase a car for little
investment but still have lots of fun.
