1979 Lincoln Continental Mark 5
Car History
When we say the 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark 5 we have here at
Adventure Classics is a creampuff, we do not mean it lightly. This
Mark 5 is a beautiful example of 80's Luxury Cars with its white
paint job and maroon landau roof with a matching burgandy plush
leather interior.
This Mark 5 is truly a time-capsule of a car since it only has an
actual 26978 miles on it, and it shows!
Mechanical
Under the hood of our Lincoln is a small block Ford 400 cubic inch
V8 providing plenty of power and torque with a 4-speed Automatic
Overdrive Transmission (AOD) which had been developed and was an
industry-first transmission that featured both a
mechanically-engaged overdrive fourth gear and third and
fourth-gear torque converter lock-up.
Everything on this engine and in the engine compartment appears to
be all original. It has all the factory parts it came with back
then including the fresh air cleaner assembly, blue painted engine
and valve covers, air conditioning, power brakes, power
steering,
It sits in the clean and factory stock engine compartment and
retains all the air cleaner, valve covers, power steering and
brakes, air conditioning, ram air induction, and everything that it
came with from the assembly plant back then.
Interior
Our Mark has the plush burgundy tan leather twin bucket seats with
armrests in the front and a matching sofa like seat in the rear
along with the great instrument cluster with speedometer, odometer,
fuel gauge, temperature gauge, and trip computer, a premium sound
AM/FM w/Cassette system, Lighting Off-Delay, Air Conditioning,
Cruise Control, Power Locks, Power Windows, Key-Pad Entry, Power
Antenna, and much more.
Exterior
The Lincoln has a nice looking exterior color of white over the
exposed headlights, maroon landau top with the porthole window, and
all the straight looking body panels on this 26,000 mile pampered
Lincoln.
Everything looks as it did back in 1979 with great glass, trim,
maroon side trim, iconic spare tire styled trunk, chrome mirrors,
front and rear chrome bumpers, and side louvers on both front
fender panels.
It rides on matched Lincoln looking hubcaps on factory wheels with
thin white wall tires and has a great ride and handling.
Conclusion
This 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark 5 we have here at Adventure
Classics is probably one of the nicest originals you will ever
find.
Don't miss your chance to own this example of classic luxury that
is a one owner car since it was purchased in 1979.
