Vehicle Description
1957 Ford Thunderbird Don't pass up the rare opportunity to take
home a single owner, California, first-gen Thunderbird classic that
looks and feels like a brand new car! This gorgeous, single owner,
1957 Ford Thunderbird is truly unique. It was bought new from a
Southern California dealership in 1958 and has remained with the
current owner, in California, ever since. It was immaculately
maintained, and underwent a complete refurbishment in 2003 to bring
the paint and finishes back to their original luster; it looks and
drives just like it did when it came off the factory line. The car
is flawlessly finished in the original Metallic Gunmetal Grey paint
with matching hard top; both matching the original paint code (H).
The car is powered by a "Thunderbird Special" 312 V8 with 4-Barrel
Carb, which was rebuilt prior to the refurbishing, and has a
Ford-O-Matic transmission, also rebuilt. There are only 48k miles
on the rebuilt engine. The show winning restoration attended to
every detail and no expense was spared. Work for the restoration
was completed at Prestige Thunderbird in Santa Fe Springs,
California. Everything on the vehicle is per the original specs
including the Borg Warner-designed Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic
transmission, Master Guide power steering, power brakes, Fairlane
Ranchero hubcaps, porthole hard top, white lined tires, duel ring
steering wheel, Town and Country radio, and factory tuned
instrument panels. All records of the restoration were retained, as
are the excellent maintenance records maintained since purchase in
1958. Most recently, an oil change was performed in 2020. The
interior is finished in the original black and white (XA) dashboard
top, carpets, seats, and door panels, with brushed aluminum
dashboard panel, and original steering wheel. The stunning quality
of the finishes can be seen in the photos and certainly makes you
understand why Ford billed the Thunderbird as a "personal luxury
car".
