Vehicle Description
If you love a muscle machine with both show and go, then this 1970
Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Tribute should get you instantly excited.
Because it's not just a sleek-looking muscle car classic, but also
it has seriously big block V8 power to really enjoy it all.
You can instantly see the way this one looks awesome dressed in
Tuxedo black. It's an update from the original factory gold, and
since this coupe's restoration was completed earlier in 2020, there
is a fresh look of quality throughout the car. The modern clearcoat
finish showcases the best of '70 design styling such as fastback
profile and the long hood. It also gives the whole car a mirror
shine like it was made of black chrome. And there's a lot more here
that really tells you how careful the restoration was. The doors
close with confidence; the hood and trunk line up nicely when
closed; and the weatherstripping is quite fresh and pliable. So
it's the kind of look that would make you envious (unless you make
it your own.) The black vinyl roof is a classic premium touch
that's always one of the best ways to announce a highly optioned
coupe. White SS stripes on power bulge cowl hood are a big part of
the appeal of the Super Sport model. But this one goes much further
to get the details right, like the blacked-out grille, blacked-out
rear panel, the correct SS badging, and large dual exhaust tips.
Nice chrome bumpers and polished stainless fender trim help
complete a package that looks ready for a weekend's worth of
showing or cruising. And those modern US Mags wheels have a polish
that adds to this car's shine, and at the same time, they are
staggered 18/20 inches front/rear for a menacing stance.
We know you love the look of the white stripes against the black
paint on the outside, and you'll find a similar kind of appeal
inside. The ivory looks crisp on the front bucket seats, rear bench
seat, and matching door panels as they tastefully contrast the
clean black carpeting, center console, headliner, and dash. This
loves to show off a classic-style presentation, right down to the
Delco AM/FM radio that's still on display in the dash. But they
also wanted to make sure this coupe is a true cruiser. So you have
the right worthwhile upgrades, like a grippy sports steering wheel,
and the white-faced auxiliary readouts give you a full picture of
the motor. The factory air conditioning has even been upgraded to
R134a (it will need servicing to blow ideally cold again.)
Big block power always looks awesome under the hood, and so it's
great to see the bold V8 radiating with power within the dark
engine bay. And since this is a year-correct 396/402 cubic-inch
motor, it's good to see it ready to show off, right down to the
polished valve covers and air grabber. Plus, the overall fresh look
reminds you once again of how recently this coupe was restored. The
mighty V8 inhales deeply through a Proform 750 four-barrel
carburetor, and it exhales with authority through the dual exhaust.
The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is the ideal mix of
stout construction and smooth shifting, and it feeds the 12-bolt
rear end. Add in power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and
the grip of modern sport tires (w/excellent tread) and iconic
muscle car is a fine all-around driver.
This is the awesomely restored and sleek '70 Chevelle that is
filled with features you really want. It will find a new home soon,
so you might want to hurry up if it's going to be your garage. Call
