Vehicle Description
This 1965 Chevrolet Nova is fresh off a full restoration this year
with less than 550 break in miles on it. They took the time to
create a dream car hardtop with super-slick paint, a beautiful
custom interior, serious suspension upgrades, and an awesome 500+
hp fuel-injected stroker V8 heart. So if you're ready for details
on the best of everything, read on.
There has been a serious investment over every inch of this Chevy,
and so the paint needs to make the right striking first impression.
The Rally Red is the product of a fresh application (everything was
completed in 2020) and a professional hand applying it. This one
loves to maximize its factory-style appeal with the bright chrome
bumpers, beautiful grille, and complete rear fender trim. And we
can absolutely understand its focus on the classic side. After all,
this was the last year for the first-gen Nova, and the switchover
to the 2nd gen made these 1965 cars some of the rarest of the whole
nameplate. But this one also doesn't resist showing off its updated
flair with well-integrated pieces like the clear tri-bar headlights
and polished magnum-style drag wheels (with extra meaty Mickey
Thompsons in the rear.)
We know you'll be rolling down all the windows on this pillarless
hardtop just so people can get a better look inside. That's because
you have a full custom interior that was just finished this spring.
The black on the seats feels supple, and the diamond-stitch pattern
inserts make this like a luxury car. Matching door panels, plush
black carpeting, and a taut headliner complete this coordinated and
premium package. The bold red dash retains the Nova's original
uncluttered feeling, but there are some well-integrated upgrades.
For example, the gauges are now a modern Dakota Digital setup. And
while the original AM radio is on display, and JVC AM/FM digital
tuner is hidden in the glovebox. You get the leather and chrome
steering wheel mounted on a tilt steering column. Your right hand
will love the grip of the TCI ratchet shifter, and just ahead of
that is the programmer for something special under the hood.
The engine bay has a fantastic presentation. The color-matched
smooth inner walls show care and attention as they draw your
attention to the V8. This is a new fuel-injected 383 GM roller
block from ATK high performance engines. It's a complete build that
includes forged pistons, forged rods, Comp Cam hydraulic roller
camshaft, Dart intake, Dart cast valve covers, and Dart SHP
aluminum heads. It's all topped with a Holley Sniper electronic
fuel injection system that you can dial-in the performance from
behind the wheel. The full package is said to make over 500
horsepower! It's supported by the right pieces like a Be Cool
aluminum radiator, an external trans cooler, steel braided lines,
and an Optima red top battery in the trunk for better weight
distribution. The Hooker Super Competition headers do a fantastic
job of feeding the H-pipe dual exhaust to announce this superior
power to the world. And make sure you take some time to look at the
path of these pipes in the undercarriage photos. There you'll be
reminded just how fresh everything is, and you'll also spot some of
your favorite parts of the build. The TH350 three-speed has a 2800
stall. That feeds the PST driveshaft on its way to the Ford 9-inch
rear end with 31-spline axles and 4.10 gears. There's strong
tubular steel for the upgraded front suspension, subframe
connectors, and the four-link rear. Plus, you have Wilwood
four-wheel disc brakes with drilled & slotted rotors, Detroit Speed
rack & pinion steering, adjustable coilovers behind each wheel.
