Vehicle Description
Loaded, luxurious, and affordable, this 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII is
an awesome coupe. And don't forget that beneath all of this is a
fully independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and the kind
of fuel-injected V8 power that also powered the best Mustangs of
the day.
Lincoln really went for an exceptional level of style on the Mark
VIII. It looks like they took up all the time at Ford's wind tunnel
until everything from the headlights to the rear fenders had a
swept back look created by speed. Even the hallmark spare tire hump
in the trunk got the aerodynamic treatment. So it's hard not to be
impressed with the design even over two decades later. The Medium
Charcoal Green has the right look of for the era. But what we
really love is the detail work. The clear look of the headlights
was innovative when new, and it's still popular today; the blackout
grille adds sporty flair to this premium Lincoln; and the dual
exhaust tips seem to taper to the form of the rear bumpers. Plus,
this has just the right amount of brightwork to give it the classic
American luxury feeling without feeling like an old-timer. You see
it in the way the trim artfully wraps around the rear while framing
the taillight package, and the bright 16-inch alloys have an
aggressive performance car style.
There is arguably no better color combination than a dark green
exterior and supple tan leather interior. This Mark VIII has a dual
sports and luxury mission, and it starts with a pair of comfortable
front bucket seats that can be power adjusted for that perfect
grand touring position. Like a true luxury Lincoln, this one is
loaded with great features such a power windows, power locks,
cruise control, heated seats, an anti-theft system, anti-lock
brakes, dual airbags, rear defogger, the premium AM/FM/cassette
stereo w/CD changer, and automatic A/C climate control. Because
this is built to be a personal luxury vehicle, all these features
seem to wrap around you. So while there's ample room in the back
seat to carry plenty of family and friends, this coupe's
driver-oriented setup makes sure the miles feel effortless on every
trip. There's even a big trunk to make sure that weekend getaways
also included the golf clubs.
Under the hood is a terrific V8 powerhouse. InTech was Lincoln's
name for the 32-valve DOHC V8 shared across the Ford line. Oh yes,
this fuel-injected 4.6-liter motor is a close sibling to the
powerhouse that made the Mustang Mach 1 and SVT Cobra such
desirable cars. So you could even probably add some of the same
go-fast goodies from those other Modular V8s, but we really do like
the stock look of this powerhouse as it is today. After all, this
version is built to deliver its power smoothly, and that's exactly
what you want in a Lincoln. Out on the road, the fully independent
suspension and four-wheel disc brakes inspire confidence while also
having a luxury ride. And the four-speed transmission w/ overdrive,
power steering, and cruise control are all part of a great driving
pack to enjoy for trips near or far.
This represents a great new era of modern classic coupes. It even
comes with a history file binder. If you looking for distinction,
luxury, and value, don't let this Lincoln slip away. Call
