Vehicle Description
Why This Car Is Special
Plymouth entered the light truck market in 1937. Those trucks sold
so well that the marque's reputation for durability, economy, and
reliability helped propel Plymouth to third in the industry in
sales for 1937.
We have a very special restored Plymouth PT series truck here at
Skyway Classics. It is a tastefully customized pre-war truck that
you will find so appealing.
Mechanical
This 1937 Plymouth PT-50 Pickup has been rebuilt with nice
up-grades. It is powered by a 198ci 6-cylinder engine and 3-speed
manual transmission and Ford 9-inch rear end.
The engine has mostly original parts and appearance and sits in its
detailed, painted, and restored engine compartment looking very
much like the day it rolled off the assembly line back in 1937.
Interior
The re-done interior has a two-tone bench seat complimented by
matching door panels, finished dash with gauges, black carpeting
and floor mats, Grant GT padded three-spoke steering wheel with
tilt steering, manual shifter on the floor, and an AM/FM radio
stereo system with speakers on the doors.
It also has a very nice custom wood bed with a tonneau cover
covering it to protect it from the weather and a storage drawer
under the seat in the interior.
Exterior
The restoration saw a new two-tone silver and dark gray paint job
over the graceful lines and fenders and was said to be themed for
the Rose Bowl and Rose Bowl Parade. It has its Deluxe Plymouth ship
hood ornament, great chrome and bumpers, side gas tank chrome cap,
side mirrors, great glass and headlights.
The underside is clean enough to eat off of and it has just the
right stance by running silver and grey wheels with chrome caps and
rings as well as blackwall performance tires.
Conclusion
This is one fine and rare restored Plymouth PT series truck we have
here at Skyway Classics that you will be proud to own and drive
anywhere. It is period correct, has a special look, and will
attract admiration and crowds when you park it anywhere or take it
to cruises and car shows.
