6,080 actual miles! This top of the line Grand Marquis is a time
capsule. Excellent survivor condition. It was owned by an elderly
couple and seldom used. After they passed the car was stored in a
heated garage for many years. More recently someone bought the car,
had it serviced and drove it about 1,700 miles. It is turnkey,
functional and ready to cruise in luxury.
EXTERIOR: The body is in outstanding condition. It does not have
any "garage damage" dents, scrapes or rust. The factory paint is
still glossy and shows really. It has just a few minor touch ups.
The factory pin stripe is painted on. The stainless trim is
excellent. The chrome is very good, there is some pitting on the
taillight bezels. The vinyl top is splitting below the rear window.
The glass is crystal clear,, the windows have been tinted. The
weather strips are still soft in excellent shape. Door jambs are
clean. The headlight doors open and close properly. The tires have
been recently replaced.
INTERIOR: I'm gonna say it's practically brand new inside from
carpet to headliner. I don't see a flaw. It's not been smoked in,
the lighters and ashtrays are clean. The door panels are mint,
there's no cracking or loose parts. The seats are genuine leather
still pristine. The front is a split bench with arm rests and
passenger side reclines. 6 way Power on both sides. The headliner
is mint. The carpets still look new. There are floormats over the
floormats! The dash area is also mint, the chrome sparkles. It
features power windows, seats, locks, tilt, Am-Fm 8 track, power
antenna and a rear defogger.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a big 460 4 barrel motor. Still looks
like it dis when leaving the factory. The stickers and paint OK
stamps are still visible. All the vacuum lines, pollution pump, air
cleaner assembly, cruise control is still in place. Overall it is
clean considering it is original. Runs smooth.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's a huge trunk compartment. It still has it's
factory carpet liner in excellent condition. The original jack and
spare have never been out of the trunk. The weather strip is still
like new. The paint under the trunk lid and jamb are excellent, it
still has paint OK stamp. The trunk light works.
UNDERSIDE: Not detailed but rock solid original condition. It still
shows some factory markings and tags. It has disc brakes in front.
The catalytic converters are still in place. It has the big C-6
automatic trans.
This is a luxury time machine ready to take you back to 1978!
