Beneficiary of an at least three year (per reciepts) high-quality restoration totaling around $60k! Starting with a rust-free California example the frame-off nut and bolt restoration started in 2010 and included sandblasting re-chroming powder coating and painting by The Works Auto Body in Santa Clara CA. at a cost of $22K. The interior was completely refurbished with full leather seats German carpet dark wood dash inlay Nardi steering wheel with custom steering column German fabric top and tonneau cover full carpeted trunk etc. by Finish Line also in Santa Clara coming to nearly $14k. The 1500cc engine was fully rebuilt to improve power Stromberg carburetors MSG ignition distributor re-curved and rebuilt resulting in nearly 95hp. A 5-speed Ford T-9 transmission replaced the original. Lastly suspension by Fat Cat Motorsports included adjustable coil-over springs Bilstien shocks and was balanced and tuned for a total of $16230. The quality of this restoration is evident today. The paint is stunning the interior is gorgeous and it's mechanically superb - the best Spitfire we've ever seen.
