Unbeknownst to them they had started a revolution in what would be one of the most iconic vehicles in shape and name. Originally offered in two body styles and three choices of transmission, either a soft top convertible with the option of a power assist or the hardtop. Power was sent to the rear wheels via a three or four speed manual or a three-speed automatic. This 1964 � Mustang Convertible was built in May 1964 making it a very early car and delivered to Downtown Motors Inc in Sacramento, California. Unique to the early examples, this car is powered by the D-code 289 4V V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission sending power to the 3:00 rear axle. It is finished in beautiful "J" code Rangoon Red, complemented by a White convertible top and code 85 Red vinyl interior which is a stunning combination. The car features air conditioning, power steering, rally pac gauges, padded visors, backup lights, tinted glass, console and power top. Finishing the look of the classic convertible are a set of styled steel wheels equipped with the dual redline bias ply tires.
