1964 Ford Mustang Convertible For Sale - "D" Code 289, 4 Spd,
Beautifully Restored LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1964
Ford Mustang Convertible From the beginning when Ford first
launched the Mustang they anticipated sales at the modest figure of
100,000 units. Unbeknownst to them they had started a revolution in
what would be one of the most iconic vehicles in shape and name.
Originally offered in two body styles and three choices of
transmission, either a soft top convertible with the option of a
power assist or the hardtop. Power was sent to the rear wheels via
a three or four speed manual or a three-speed automatic. This 1964
Mustang Convertible was built in May 1964 making it a very early
car and delivered to Downtown Motors Inc in Sacramento, California.
Unique to the early examples, this car is powered by the D-code 289
4V V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission sending power to the
3:00 rear axle. It is finished in beautiful "J" code Rangoon Red,
complemented by a White convertible top and code 85 Red vinyl
interior which is a stunning combination. The car features air
conditioning, power steering, rally pac gauges, padded visors,
backup lights, tinted glass, console and power top. Finishing the
look of the classic convertible are a set of styled steel wheels
equipped with the dual redline bias ply tires. This classic Mustang
is nice enough to be part of any collection or be driven with the
top down on the weekends. For either the classic car collector or
the enthusiast who is looking for a well cared for eye catching
summer driver it is difficult to look past this little Red pony.
