Vehicle Description

1970 Dodge Super Bee - 426 Hemi 4-speed with Hurst pistol grip shifter

The engine has been changed from the factory 383 to an Indy Cylinder Head 426 Hemi with 18 spline Hemi A833 4-speed transmission with a Lakewood scatter shield bell housing.  The rear end is a Dana 60 with 3.54 posi-traction.  Aluminum intake, dual Edelbrock carbs, tight lash mechanical camshaft, MSD Pro Billet distributor, Summit ignition box, chrome valve covers, aluminum water pump and radiator, TTI headers.  No power steering and no power brakes. This engine currently has less than 250 miles on it.

Original fender tag shows factory Top Banana color, 383 engine, A833 4-speed, and Dana 60 rear end.  We have not confirmed if the body is numbers matching.

We purchased the car over a year ago and made several mechanical updates including:

  • New flat tappet mechanical lifters
  • New head gaskets, had cylinder heads freshened up
  • New master cylinder
  • New water pump motor
  • New radiator water hoses
  • New high torque mini-starter
  • Rebuilt 4 speed transmission
  • New McCloud clutch and pressure plate
  • Driveshaft has new U-joints and has been balanced, has new U-bolts
  • New axle bearings
  • New Hotchkis rear shocks
  • New Doctor Diff front disc brakes
  • New 2.5” TTI X pipe exhaust
  • New Optima battery, relocated to trunk

Exterior was rotisserie restored we are guessing around 5 years ago with new and refurbished parts including black C-stripe and go-fast wing.  Paint is in good shape and shines up really well.  Interior has bench seat, door panels, headliner, carpet, Rallye dash, woodgrain steering wheel, and Hurst Pistol Grip restored to stock.  Original AM radio that is not hooked up.  The wiper motor switch on the dash is for a 2-speed motor, but the car came with a 3-speed motor.  Comes with one set of original keys (ignition, glove box, and trunk), chrome exhaust tips, new wiper motor gasket and wiring harness, new trunk weather stripping, spare OEM master cylinder, spare new front brake hoses.

This is a solid car that is a great driver and draws a crowd wherever you go.  Selling to pursue dream of nostalgia super stock racing with a 1968 Hemi Dart.  Serious inquiries only.  No trades.
