For Sale: 1968 Jaguar E-Type in Atlanta, Georgia

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1968 Jaguar E-Type OTS Roadster, a numbers-matching example finished in Old English White with a beige canvas convertible top over black interior. The paint, body and chrome on this XKE present to a driver standard and the car shows some patina (see close-up photos) but the body lines are straight and panel gaps and door fitment are excellent. No known rust. It's refreshing to see car meant to be driven and enjoyed that has not been over restored. Canvas top is nearly new; rear window is crystal clear and the top frame (and interior leather pulls) are likewise excellent.

Interior presents nicely with good carpets, dash, door cars and steering wheel. Newer leather hides on the seating surfaces look and feel great. All gauges, lights, switches, etc. are working with the exception of the speedometer. The radio console has been removed but is included with the sale. A full tonneau is also included (along with spare, jack, knock-off hammer and owner's books). Wire wheels in good condition are wearing Vredestein Sprint Classics.

Under the bonnet is the original, numbers-matching 4.2 liter XK inline six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Extensive and well-documented mechanical overhaul within the last 5,000 miles included an engine-out reseal, new clutch, plus a complete suspension and brake system overhaul. The rear subframe was removed, which including replacing the inboard brake rotors and calipers. This E-Type runs and drives exceptionally well - engine pulls strong and the chassis, steering and brakes feel great (as you would except given all new bushings, etc). Everything forward of the firewall plus the rear subframe was stripped and repainted (including frame rails, torsion bars and suspension components). The owner made the conscious effort to leave the body unrestored.
