1978 Ford Thunderbird A genuine 'time-capsule' beauty! Less than
50,000 miles on this classic T-Bird. The interior appears as in the
showroom, the exterior the same but with a slight patina. It has
sat in inside storage for 20+ years, and required some (a lot of)
mechanical work to get it to its present state. The (302) engine
was rebuilt with: - .030-over pistons - rings - valves - pushrods -
bearings The fuel system was completely replaced with: - rebuilt
carburetor - new fuel pump - new fuel tank - new fuel sending unit
Additionally: - new Kumho tires (including spare) - new battery -
new ignition module Would not hesitate to set sail for California
in this beauty. It glides (floats?) down the road in quiet comfort.
Cons? Will leave it up to the proud new owner to: - test the A/C?
All the original components are there, but you may want a more
modern compressor - repair/replace the 2-piece vinyl top? It is
intact and there has no moisture hiding underneath. However, there
are a number of splits that should be sealed/replaced. - paint flaw
on the driver side rear quarter. Not known whether fuel was spilled
or there is some separation from a minor repair? The 99% of the
paint is too nice to repaint the entire car. - 8G87F314385 8 = 1978
