For Sale: 1934 Dodge Pickup in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is a modern build with an old school hot rod theme. This stunning Hemi Dodge truck has an impressive provenance. It has been featured in six magazines including Rod and Custom, Rod and Custom top 100 hot rods, American Rodder, Truck Builder Magazine, Custom Classic Trucks and Gauge magazine. It has won awards in every show it has ever been in including 1st place at Detroit Autorama, best engineered at annual Ididit car show in 2019. It won best of show Mopar at 700 car event Labor Day 2020. It was also featured on a TV show called the Wrenchman. We have a photo album of the entire restoration process. They started with a beautiful truck.

EXTERIOR: It's been completely taken apart down to a bare metal cab. The roof and the cowl vent were filled and made smooth. It has it's original suicide doors rechromed handles. The bed has been modified, shortened and has a louvered rear panel. It has widened fiberglass rear fenders for the larger tires. Painted screaming yellow, there's no missing this truck in a crowd! The paint is like yellow glass. It is polished as smooth as Teflon, it even feels slick. It has original grill shell with ram hood ornament. Upfront it has a restored 1934 bumper and rare original Guide headlamps. In back it has original style Dodge taillights with LED bulbs. It rolls on radial white wall tires with chrome wheels. The Dodge hubcaps are detailed with yellow lettering. The running boards were recovered. It has yellow welting between fenders and body. New glass, windshield frame was rechromed. New weatherstrips.

INTERIOR: The inside was completely reupholstered traditional style with yellow piping. The seat was completely rebuilt, recushioned and reupholstered. The door panels were upholstered to match. The cab is upholstered behind the seats and has map pockets. It has a white perforated headliner. It has Juliano's seat belts with retractable shoulder belts. It has a vintage instrument panel with machine turn trim and a complete set of white face Stewart Warner gauges. It has a matching column mount tachometer. It also features a leather wrapped steering wheel with a Dodge Brothers horn button on a polished Flaming River column. It has power windows, power locks and even variable speed wipers. It has a Custom Auto Sound stereo with remote. Modern Vintage Air a/c and heat system. The carpets and floor mats have bound edges. There's a Hurst 4-speed on the floor and a functional emergency brake.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very cool to see a Dodge Hemi in a Dodge truck. 1950s Super Red Ram Hemi. Professionally rebuilt, bored 30 over, has a hotter cam and a Mopar electronic ignition system. On top is an Offenhauser intake and a new set of Edelbrock tri-power carbs, all 3 are functional. It is beautifully dressed with polished finned valve covers. An aluminum radiator, polished overflow bottle and stainless hoses keep it running cool. I love the white firewall.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The metal floor was replaced with refinished oak and stainless steel strips. The fuel filler was relocated to the bed floor and has Dodge gas cap. It also has custom tailgate latches. The side walls are pristine metal painted as slick as the truck itself.

UNDERSIDE: The body was lifted off the chassis and every single component was taken apart and rebuilt or replaced. The whole bottom of this truck is the same screaming yellow as it is on top. Up front it has a 4 inch drop tubular axle. All new steering components. New leaf springs and shocks front and back. Bottom of the motor is clean, has a high torque starter. It uses a Mopar 833 4-speed with overdrive. A Ford 9 inch rear is in back with 3.89 gears. This will cruise all day at freeway speeds turning 1800 to 2000 RPMs. Disc brakes front and back, they used stainless steel braided hoses. It also has a power brake unit under the truck. New dual exhaust system goes all the way out the back with turn down tips.

This is a quality, tastefully built vintage hot rod. Its a proven show winner as recently as Sept 2020 and a proven driver with 10,000 fun filled miles under it's belt. It will be a joy to own getting positive attention anywhere it goes!
