This 1979 MG MGB mixes a ton of well-kept originality with all the
right upgrades where you really want it. The result is a true
classic that you'll truly love to drive.
Carmine Red is a great factory color to have. After all, it gives
you the bold red we all love in a drop-top, and it's also a deeper
tone with a touch of sophistication. So not only is it the ideal
color, but also this shows all the right signs of being the
original factory application. It looks extremely well-respected for
its age, and that's what you get on a car that has averaged about
1,900 miles annually. That means a great story and a finish that
still retains quite a nice luster. This one also has appeal just
for its overall crisp look. The bumpers are exceptionally smooth;
the full-length trim highlights the straight body panels; and the
Rostyle wheels are quite striking. This even comes with some nice
extras like the luggage rack on the rear and a tonneau cover for
over the interior.
Full roll-up windows and a proper convertible top have always given
these MGBs a practical side. But really, we all want them to be
open to the world, especially with this tan interior looking so
good against the exterior red. In fact, the bucket seats look
particularly nice with their seat covers updated sometime later in
life. This is setup to be a driver's machine with a grippy sports
steering wheel, a gearstick in just the right place, and full set
of gauges with large speedo and tach. Plus, there's an upgraded
AM/FM/CD/XM stereo with Bluetooth to make sure you get the best in
modern music in this vintage convertible.
We have dealer paperwork to show this is the numbers-matching block
in the engine bay, but this 1800cc unit has also been given all the
right investments. It starts with good fundaments, like electric
fuel pump, newer brake lines, and a newer alternator. Plus, there's
some added performance from a Weber carburetor, Pierce intake, and
an exhaust header system. This is both a smooth and strong runner,
and the four-speed manual transmission has a crisp action to take
full control of the motor. Add to this the nimble steering, power
brakes w/discs up front, and newer Pirelli tires, and you have an
unbeatable driving package.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manuals and service
manuals. This is the ideal mix of history and upgrades to deliver a
terrific all-around MG experience. So at a value price like this,
you know you need to call today!
