For Sale: 1957 Chevrolet Nomad in Sedona, Arizona

Vehicle Description

This 1957 Chevrolet Nomad is finished in Medium Red Pearl with ghost flames over a gray interior. A Chevrolet small-block V8 provides power stroked to 383 cubic inches and backed by Hurst 6-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9-inch Ford rear end. Additional equipment includes American Racing wheels, an aluminum radiator, a Flowmaster Exhaust, disc brake conversion, power windows, and a modern stereo. Located in Sedona, Arizona, this Nomad is now offered for sale on a clean Arizona title in the seller's name.

The body is finished in Medium Red Pearl with ghost flames extending across the hood, fenders, and partially onto the doors. The body retains all the factory trim pieces, including gold "V" emblems front and rear, a gold grille with chrome center bar, tail fin trim panels, and chrome luggage strips on the rear. The wrap-around windshield and rear glass is in good condition, free of any cracks or pitting, as are the side windows. Additional features include dagmar style front bumperettes, dual exhaust with polished tips, chrome rocker moldings, and a fuel filler hidden in the tailfin.

The car rides on staggered-fit polished American Racing Torque Thrust style wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. The braking system has been upgraded with discs on all four corners

The interior is equipped with front bucket seats and a rear bench seat, all upholstered in gray cloth with matching door panels and headliner. Black carpeting covers the floor while the polished shifter for the 6-speed transmission is mounted to the transmission tunnel and capped with a black shift knob. The dash housing is finished in black with metal trim across the face, housing a modern stereo fitted in the factory location as well as an analog clock on the passenger side. Controls for the power windows are featured on the door panels, along with additional speakers for the stereo.

The factory steering wheel and column have been upgraded with a polished billet banjo wheel polished billet column with tilt capability. Instrumentation consists of a 120mph speedometer in the factory location, flanked by gauges for water temperature and fuel level, all surrounded by a chrome bezel. An aftermarket tachometer is installed on top of the dash while ancillary gauges are mounted underneath.

Power is supplied by a 350ci V8 stroked to 383ci that has been balanced and align honed. Equipped with an aluminum intake manifold, 4 barrel carburetor, and braided stainless fuel lines, the engine was built with heavy-duty parts for strength and reliability. The exhaust consists of Turley Tri-Y headers, which feed a Flowmaster exhaust system, and the cooling system features an aluminum radiator. A Hurst 6-speed manual transmission sends power to a Currie 9-inch Ford rear with positraction differential.
