For Sale: 1956 Chevrolet 150 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

When it comes to current automotive trends, nothing's hotter than resto-mods. The excellent blend of timeless style and big performance afforded by tastefully upgraded classics is simply hard to beat! Sporting an awesome combination of old school swagger and thoroughly modern underpinnings, this sweet 150 follows the resto-mod formula perfectly. As the beneficiary of a thorough, ground-up restoration, the car has been completely reworked to include a massaged chassis, a hot small block, a tough Richmond 5-speed and incredible, chrome-laden aesthetics. If you want a hot classic that utilizes great technology to create an unforgettable driving experience, check out this killer Chevy!

BRIGHT AND SHINY

Sealed in brilliant Viper Red two-stage, this slick Chevy sedan is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that wrapped in late 2017. In addition to great alignment, the car's svelte body features show worthy aesthetics that are the direct result of fresh trim, classy emblems and showy bumpers. And those striking details have been carefully married to a collection of surfaces that is much nicer than anything that rolled out of the factory. At the front of this classic, a guarded bumper protects a polished grille, which points clear parking lamps beneath a mirrored "V" and stainless-trimmed headlights. Above that grille, a familiar Jetbird hood topper leads the eye to like-new glass that's sealed behind polished trim, polished wipers and a short antenna. At the sides of that glass, a clean profile hangs electronically popped doors amid small mirrors and simple trim spears. And at the back of the car, a second guarded bumper reflects a frenched tag and cool Blue Dot Taillights.

GOOD AND QUICK

Toss this resto-mod's hood and you'll find 350 cubic inches of mean Chevy small block that, fully rebuilt in early 2020, creates roughly 300 horsepower. At the top of that body-matched mill, a polished Chevrolet air cleaner centers a trick bowtie wing nut on a coated MSD throttle body. That fuel injection feeds a polished intake and hot 882 heads, which hide quality roller rockers under polished, Chevrolet-branded valve covers and a polished breather. At the back of those heads, a Comp hydraulic, flat-tappet cam twists an electronic distributor, which bounces spark between a polished coil and loomed Taylor wires. Those wires fire .040 overbored cylinders to push eight flat-top pitons. At the sides of that compression, coated block hugger headers make quick work of charred dinosaurs. At the front of those tubes, a billet March serpentine drive spins polished power steering beneath a polished alternator and a polished AC compressor. In front of that drive, a lightweight PRC radiator utilizes corrugated hoses to push water around quick-spinning DCM puller fans. And virtually every facet of this 150's clean engine bay exists to maximize the car's performance and appearance.

CLASSIC AND MODERN

Behind the 350, a fresh clutch kicks a tough Richmond 5-speed, which spins a factory Drop Out Axle that's finished with an open differential and 3.55 gears. That spirited drivetrain rides a factory chassis that's supplemented with trick drop coils. That suspension gets steadied by power rack-and-pinion steering. Power-assisted stops are provided by a polished booster, which clamps body-matched calipers around a quartet of vented rotors. Spent gases traverse aluminized tubes and aggressive turbo mufflers. And torque meets the pavement through attractive American Racing Torq Thrusts, which spin 235/45R17 Kumho Ecstas in front of 255/50R17 Kumho Ecstas.

STYLE AND FUNCTION

Between the doors you'll find a stylish leather interior that uses traditional elements to polish modern presentation. Retrofitted seats, sourced from a Pontiac Grand Am, stretch tight leather hides around power adjustment for the car's driver. In front of those seats, a carefully reworked dash centers a modern Kenwood CD player, which bumps a quartet of crisp Pioneer speakers, between modern air conditioning and upgraded telemetry. Under that dash, a custom console surfs a speed drilled shifter on plush carpet. Tasteful side panels front a sensible combination of power and manual windows. And the driver spins a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel around a tilting column.

Restored and ready to roll, this sweet 150 can be driven, shown and enjoyed in any way its new owner sees fit. Featuring a stout small block, an updated chassis, an overdrive transmission and a healthy list of great amenities, the car is right at home tackling the turns OR swaying the show. If you've been eyeing the resto-mod movement patiently waiting for a sorted, incredibly appealing classic, anticipate no longer!
