Vehicle Description
2006 Chevrolet Silverado Z71
"Shhhhhhh...be vewy, vewy quiet! I'm hunting wabbit!! I' going to
best this wascawwy wabbit. Elmer Fudd was always on the hunt for
Bugs Bunny, and usually ended up hurting himself or others and
never getting the game on! Hunting being the theme...debauchery
being the outcome.
"A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go, hi ho the derr-io a
hunting we will go". And go in style with this hunting themed,
camouflaged, and signed by various and sundry celebs, multiple
first place and best of show award winner (see Bitchin' Rotes)
truck in Silverado trimmings. Gun up! We're goin' for some game-'n.
POW!
Exterior
This big gamer with its tall ground clearance stance, double barrel
Mercedes Benz front headlights that change colors on command,
custom deer print grille, big fog lights, and a front push bar that
can handle an 18 wheeler or any mountain rock that gets in your way
of the game. Let's bathe the exterior in silver birch (how apropos)
and pepper it with some camouflage accessories like a front bug
guard, and window visors (and there's more to come....). Big
caliper Dick Cepec wheels are on all 4 corners and wrapped with
33x12.50R17LT "knobbies" all around, an extended cab with a suicide
swinging short door for easy access for the other callers, guide
and pointer dog. We are on the hunt for excitement. A nicely
covered bed in vinyl tonneau trim, and a custom Chevrolet rug for
the bed, a few stickers on the tailgate inducing some deer tracks,
and dual 2 inch chromed exhaust tips flanking a central HD hitch,
and a shiny bumper hovering above. On the back of the cab window is
a winter scene deer graphic in see through screening. Fire ONE!
Interior
As I climb inside to my high "blind" I'm met with original black
molded door panels adorned with some camouflage wood scene graphics
throughout this panel. Inside a veritable forest of more camp
finishes on the carpeting (like a fall forest floor scene), bucket
seats, steering wheel, and the dash front, and it is awesome. In
fact, it's so good, my cohort did not even know I was inside
(tongue in cheek!). The back bench is also camo covered, and a
multiple gun rack is on the rear glass and has an arrow "prop"
hanging from it. A toggle operates neons for the underneath. A key
pad operates PIAA high and low beam lights. As noted, celeb
signatures abound. Headliner has been creatively wrapped with birch
branches and fall leaves on them, just like you would be looking
skyward. There is a ceiling indent where 2 of the 4 toggles work
special ceiling lighting in the shape of bow ties and glow green,
and the other operates lighting to light the floor green! Plenty of
power options as a Silverado would be optioned are inside and out.
Left of the steering wheel press the button for a special turkey
gobbling sound of the special horn. If you are still in need of
excitement the customized stereo comes with two remotes to push
buttons on all day... Gosh they thought of everything!
Ready.....Aim....
Drivetrain
Fire!...it right up on this 5.3 liter V8 that is within a camo
wrapped engine bay and even has some of its own adornments in
camouflage. It's a bit hard to see, but if you look closely,
detailing is very nice, and there is a 4-speed automatic 4L65E
tranny on the back. I can see the forest through the trees.
Undercarriage
Underneath has more camouflage accenting on the spare wheel,
pumpkin, drive shaft, and outer brake trimmings. All straight
structurally sound big steel girders hold up this beauty, and all
is rust free. As noted the neon lighting is mounted here too.
Independent coil springs provide the high ride for the front and
leaf springs hold up the rear. Power disc brakes are upfront, and
power drums on the back. Happy trails!
Drive-Ability
This truck "fired" right up and ran like a bullet with plenty of
acceleration, power and ultimately comfort. It has a kick ass
engine, a killer stereo with remotes, and riding shotgun is even
fun! All controls are working perfectly, and AC fires up nice and
cold.
A fine customization now looking very "gamey" with its camo, silver
birch paint, and Silverado trimmings. Load up, and have a drive in
this beauty, and with the wild extras (lighting, remotes for
stereo, turkey gobble horn, signatures) you can literally pull the
trigger and drive away into the sunset. Now that's no half cocked
idea is it? God Bless Larry Light for This One.... Pulll!!
