Original Car was purchased at Luray Caverns in 2001, at a car auction. Restoration was completed in Spring 2003; car currently has 60,000 plus miles, after restoration. A complete off-frame restoration was performed, existing drive train, “straight 8”, rear end and transmission sold to Gentlemen restoring a 1937 LaSalle. Reused original frame with new front “clip” purchased from Martz Chassis (PA) that was installed, along with new rear springs, mounts and shocks from Chassis Engineering. Car has power 4-wheel disk brakes, power steering, electric windows, and ALL 4 doors are “SUICIDE”, a very rare feature. Rear end is out of a Mercury SUV, 8.8, 3.78 Posi-traction. Rear end has been gone thru, with new bearings and seals. Transmission is a GM 2004R, 4 speed overdrive, and has been gone thru, with all new parts. Engine was a new GM ZZ4 350 crate motor, aluminum heads and roller cam with Street and Performance “High Ram” Fuel injection. All wiring and fuse block are manufactured by Ron Francis. A new CVF “Front drive” system installed last year, with new 140-amp alternator, power steering pump and AC compressor with serpentine auto belt tensioner. All front brakes, new tie rods, calipers, brake pads, new motor mounts, rear end fluid/seal replaced, and transmission fluid changed, front shocks and bushings have been replaced last year. Rear brake pads replaced 2 years ago. Car has Vintage Heat/AC. Color of car is Laser Red, with matching custom pinstriping on the car and the trailer. All chrome professionally redone by NuChrome. Steering column is from a 1962 Cadillac with tilt/telescopic, and Cruise control. Interior was installed by King’s Upholstery; Roanoke VA. Car seats have embroidered “LaS” (LaSalle) in all seats. Front seats are out of a Lexus, 400 series, with power. Car has 40 channel CB, “hidden” radio, remote 6 disk CD player and power AM/FM/CB antenna. Car has Diamond Back white wall tires. All gauges are Classic Instruments. All wheels on car and trailer match, with “LaS” (LaSalle) symbol on hub. Trailer is a custom made to be a “look alike” LaSalle. Trailer has LED taillights, with a remote that operates front head lights, water squitter thru hood ornament, and “cow” horn, the kids and adults love it, this is a one-of-a-kind!! Car and trailer have “aqua colored” neon lights.
