Original survivor 1968 AMC AMX stored in a California garage since
1981 -Extremely Rare with original 67,300 miles- Factory X-code
390, 315hp with 'Shift Command' 3-speed automatic transmission and
Go Pack option. Original drivetrain. Original black plate
California car. 'Twin-Grip' limited-slip differential (posi) with
2.87 ring-and-pinion. This is an early production AMX number 00437
on the glove box door. Includes original manual, dealer sales
documents and registration dating back to 1974, It still wears the
original Haileah Yellow paint with factory black racing stripes.
The original black interior is in nice shape. Dash has no cracks,
seats have no tears. The body, frame, quarters panels, floors and
the trunk pan is very solid. The original paint on the trunk pan
looks like it was just painted. Has some minor dents on the roof
from boxes sitting on top of it while it was stored. Has door paint
chips on the right door and quarter panel with some paint checking
from age in some areas, but it still looks great. Original owner
sold it in1974. Second owner sold it in 1986. Third owner bought
stored it, and in 2015 he passed and gave it to his son-in-law. I
am the fourth owner. I bought it from third owners son-in-law
March-2020. The Go Pack Option on the 1968 AMX included either the
343 cu in (5.6 L) 280hp or 390 cu in (6.4 L) 315hp high-output
four-barrel V8 engine with a dual exhaust system and chromed
exhaust tips, heavy-duty cooling system with 7 blade fan, power
front disc brakes, upgraded Heavy Duty suspension for improved
handling. 'Twin-Grip" limited-slip differential (posi), Five-spoke
'Magnum 500" wheels with wide-tread tires, and over-the-top racing
