Vehicle Description
1973 International Harvester Scout. This is a true unrestored
survivor Scout II from Northern California with factory original
paint! It has been well maintained and driven at least once a month
it's entire life. It runs and drives well and stops on a dime in a
straight line! This 1973 Scout II has the original 345 V8 motor
with an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and
is smog exempt in California. This Scout even has the original
factory hubcaps in their original box that came with the Scout when
it sold new back in 1973, and they have never been mounted!
Everything works as it should including the original radio, however
the clock does not work, and the gas gauge stopped working about 6
months ago. There is also a light out in the dash on the left side
of the gauge cluster. It has a few cracks in the dash, and it has a
small oil leak under the motor, and an exhaust leak on the
passenger side of the exhaust manifold, however it is not bad or
loud, but if you listen closely you can hear it. This Scout does
have a fairly new exhaust system from the motor all the way to the
back, with dual Flomaster mufflers and it sounds great! It also has
an external oil filter mounted to the firewall for superior
protection. It has a Holley 2 barrel carburetor that was installed
about 5 years ago. It also has a set of Michelin 30x9.50 R15 LT
104R X Radial Tires in good condition with lots of tread left on
them! As far as the body and paint, it is as stated factory
original / never been repainted, and that being said, it does have
a few small dings and scrapes and even some light surface rust in
some of the nooks and cranny's however it is very solid with no rot
out anywhere that can be seen... you will probably not find a Scout
this old with factory original paint as nice as this one! Have
included a pair of sliding glass windows, another set of hubcaps
that have been used, the original hubcaps that came with this Scout
when it was sold new back in 1973.
