Vehicle Description
***SALE PENDING*** As iconic as baseball and apple pie, this 1955
Bel Air Sport Coupe has remained in the same family since it was
sold new by Humphrey Chevrolet, Milwaukee Wis, on September 28th,
1955. Leaving the Janesville GM plant with optional turn signals,
heater, Power Glide trans, Power Pack, Gypsy Red/Shoreline Beige 2
tone paint, and white wall tires, the dealer also installed a
radio, back up lamps, underseal, oil filter, and grill guard. All
this for a sticker price of $3,034! Pampered from the start, the
original owner stored this beauty every winter and used it as a
summer pleasure cruiser, and was known to simply back it out into
the driveway on a sunny day just so it could be admired. The 47k
miles is believed to be actual, and no knowledge of any engine or
trans work is noted. The original 265cid V8 and Power Glide
automatic transmission perform excellent, as they should. Passed on
to his daughter and son-in-law in 1990, they set out to preserve
and maintain this wonderful car. It was decided at that time to
have the car repainted (in the original Lacquer style and colors)
as well as having the interior freshened up with new upholstery,
carpet, and door panels. All documentation from this refurbishment,
along with the original sales invoice, warranty, and more is
included. This is a stunning, 2+ condition multiple show winner,
and for the first time since late 1955 it is available to the next
steward. If you have been wanting a stock, unmolested 1955 Chevy
Bel Air Sport Coupe you will be hard pressed to find one nicer.
