Vehicle Description
This 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H celebrates one of the coolest
collaborations in the car industry. So not only do you get a rare
and speedy pony car, but also the exceptional paperwork file that
comes with the car really makes sure that this instant classic
remains a valued collectable.
The paring of Shelby and Hertz is legendary. The exclusive black
and gold coupes were originally for those in 1966 who wanted to be
a professional racer every weekend. They brought these back in 2006
to celebrate the 40th anniversary with a limited run of only 500
examples. But while the 1966 cars were used and abused, the 2006
cars were highly-controlled weekend show machines. In fact, we have
a terrific paperwork file that shows items like its check-in with
Hertz, and Shelby America recognizing the first consumer owner. And
because these were one of the lowest production Shelby cars of its
era, this one has been treated with proper care in private hands.
That's why the low odometer is believed to reflect actual mileage
(averaging less than 1,300 miles annually.) The level of care also
shows in the coupe's presentation. The black paint shows all the
right signs of being original, and it has the deep luster of a
well-kept coupe. And the exclusive gold striping makes this Shelby
truly feel like precious metal. It has largely been kept in
preserved condition rather than take out originality with any few
cosmetic touch-ups that may be needed. So while you have the option
to alter anything, we're quite pleased to see one that remembers
originality is cherished in the original Shelby Mustangs today. And
these truly are a special sports machine with big vented
performance hood, locking pins, bright billet grilles, 17-inch
wheels, plenty of official Shelby badging, and the full-width rear
spoiler.
The interior is a loaded Mustang with all the right Shelby touches.
The dark charcoal leather sets the tone correctly for this
performance machine. These sculpted buckets are all-day
comfortable, and there's even power bolstering. As a loaded pony
car, you get all the best in modern features. This includes air
conditioning, cruise control, power windows, power locks, rear
window defrost, keyless entry/alarm, dual airbags, and a Shaker 500
AM/FM stereo with in-dash disc changer. And to make sure you never
forget how special this machine is, there is the official plaque
show this is car #350. Even the full carpeting is upgraded with the
Shelby logo, including the trunk.
More than just the appearance of performance, the Shelby GT-H was
given a nice upgrade over the Mustang GTs. The 4.6-liter was given
a cold air intake and new performance exhaust right from the start.
This deeper breathing gave the GT-H a total of 325 horsepower. It's
a well-preserved and highly original setup. In fact, as you look at
the undercarriage photos, you'll even be able to spot some factory
markings and tags still nicely displayed. And while you're noticing
that, you'll also pick up on the upgrades such as the specially
tuned dampers, performance springs, and thick sway bars front &
rear that were all part of this GT-H from day one. The upgraded
handling combined with the five-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS, and Pirelli P Zero Nero
tires create an outstanding total package.
The full paperwork file on this includes the original window
sticker, dealer invoice, owner's manual, title information at
Hertz, history info from Hertz, and Shelby Registry authentication.
This is the GT-H coupe that hits all the right marks for
preservation, rarity, and stature. So if you're a true collector,
don't let this one slip away. Call today!!!
