powered Chevelle 300 is the product of a frame off restoration with
the end goal of having a clean, classic Chevelle with modern
conveniences and technology. We'd say that the goal has been met,
and we now have a great classic car for your consideration. This
Chevelle was treated to a frame off restoration by our client who
has owned the car for approximately 3 years. He is an enthusiast
who enjoys the process of rebuilding mid sixties GM vehicles, and
who always completes his builds without taking shortcuts. The
restoration of this GM classic - a complete repaint was completed
after a few spots on the body were repaired - the floors, lower
quarter panels, and the hood was replaced with a cowl hood. Body
panels now fit just as they should, trim shows very well, the
chrome bumpers are new, and the paint is glossy and even. Chevy
Rally wheels finished in silver with chrome beauty rings wrapped in
new tires finish off the exterior look. As part of the restoration,
the car was treated to a new interior finished in black with the
traditional exterior color exposed at the tops of the door panels.
The interior is dialed in from top to bottom and features a Dakota
Digital gauge cluster, Grant Steering wheel, and Hurst shifter. The
trunk area is clean and finished in the traditional grey splatter
paint. Now we get to the part of this classic Chevy that is not so
traditional - the powerplant. Under the hood is a 2002 5.3L LS V8
that is mated to a Muncie M20 4 speed manual. The install is
cleanly done and features color matched trim plates which hide some
of the more modern bits of the engine from view. The underside is
clean with a new fuel tank and new 2 ½ exhaust being new parts that
are easy to spot. In addition, new brake components including lines
were added and a 3:36 posi-traction rear end. The car has power
brakes and power steering. This is a Chevelle that is ready to roam
the streets with it's good looks and modern power plant. Fully
restored and a LS V8 under the hood sounds pretty enticing to us!
