1998 Ferrari F355 Spyder
The Ferrari F355 (Type F129) is a sports car manufactured by
Italian car manufacturer Ferrari produced from May 1994 to 1999.
The car is a heavily revised Ferrari 348 with notable exterior and
performance changes. Design emphasis for the F355 was placed on
significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a
wider range of speeds and in different environments (such as
low-speed city traffic.)
The F355 Spider, which debuted in 1995, with its Pininfarina-penned
lines honed by 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel, resulted in a blend
of elegant style and aerodynamic performance. For the first time on
a Ferrari automobile, the semi-automatic soft-top was powered
electronically. Initially, the Spider was offered with the 6-speed
manual transmission. Here for consignment we have a fourth-year
Nero Black drapes the beautifully designed exterior aerodynamic
panels of this exotic car. From its slippery hidden headlight
front, back to its windswept windscreen to the engine venting on
the rear quarters to the iconic round taillights that just say
Ferrari, this car presents beautifully. The black canvas
convertible top is in minty condition and raises and lowers with
little effort. Yellow prancing horse, the icon of the Italian
Escuderia hand built supercar, adorns the car. Also noted is the
challenge package, which includes an open grille for enhanced oil
cooling, and brake cooling.
A mixture of fine hand stitched leathers, and awesome technology
make up the cockpit where we see electronic controls for windows,
top, mirrors, temperature, door locks, and exterior lighting. A
chromed grated shift pattern and ball on lever sits within
ergonomic reach of the pilot. An AM/FM/CD player and various gauges
to keep track of the essentials are laid out in front of the
driver. 2 Tan Connelly Leather covered buckets grab driver and
passenger, and keep them safe at high speeds, while all the while
minding comfort. Black carpet, like new covers the floors.
A mid engined 3.5 Liter 5V fuel injected V8 is midway mounted into
the car for weight balance, and attach a 6 speed manual
transmission, and you are ready to make some noise, that is found
recognizably melodious to only those who are a Ferrari aficionado.

As expected for a 1998 model car, slight patina and wear, but
mostly covered in smooth metal for aerodynamic downforce and ground
effects. Independent suspension, and disc brakes are all around.
Otherwise its smooth ground effects covering every corner
Out test track is certainly not the equivalent to a lap around
Monza or Imola, but this car still handled it well. Wonderful
acceleration, rail-like handling, and super fast braking can
unnerve even the most experienced of passengers when they think you
will not make that turn! This all mixed in with the sound of a high
revving Ferrari engine that no other car can duplicate. All is well
with this Italian. BELLISSIMO!!
For an individual who has a perchance to get into an exotic car,
and experience some of its technical aspects it has to offer, as
well as the power of a hand built engine, and wants to surround
yourself with some luxury, this is a great entry level car in very
nice condition. Extensive service records are neatly bound for the
history of this car... And it is a convertible, albeit a fast one.
