Vehicle Description
1990 GMC VAN G2500 This is a true, low miles, strong running van.
Bought it last year to travel the country. It had about 56,000
miles at the time. Paid for a carfax and tracked the miles that
were put on it each year, and it was all consistent with the story
from the previous owner. The exterior/interior was in such great
condition it also showed the low use and how well it was cared for.
Since then, took out the back seats and built a very sturdy bed
platform, painted it red, put some new all terrain tires on, and
driven 23,000 miles all around the country. Van reads 79,xxx miles,
and it is driven regularly so miles will go up slightly every week.
The bed platform is perfect for a full size mattress, but should
also fit a queen, there's room for storage on each side of the
platform and has plenty of storage room underneath that can fit
fishing/hunting gear, clothes/food, also standard wooden crates
(bought at home depot or walmart etc.), or whatever you need for
traveling/camping. You can also strap wood easily to the top of the
van with the rails in the back. Everything has always worked
perfectly in this 30 year old van, all meters, cruise control, the
many lights inside and out, the motorized chair functions, a.c. and
heater, etc. However, the a.c. compressor just went out last week.
It was blowing very cold and worked exactly as it should before
then. This van has never left owner stranded or broken down in any
way. Though it's not 4x4, its been taken on trails and through snow
with no problems at all. The suspension does very well (it was
upgraded by previous owner) and can even handle rocky uneven
terrain if faced with it. It's very comfortable driving thousands
of miles on the highway, has no problem keeping 80mph speeds, and
can accelerate faster than you'd expect. Owner always changed the
oil and had other maintenance done in a timely manner during
ownership. Would not hesitate driving it across the country five
times over the way it sits right now.
