1936 Ford Fordor Touring Restoration/modification- VIN: 2504545, total mieage since build 1,339. This build/restoration began in late 1993 and has been enjoyed as a very well sorted and documented Street Rod for over 5 years. All literature, manuals and instructions are included and accounted for. Clearly, this model 68 has been streamlined to further enhance the flowing lines that Ford penned way back. A thoughtful chop, deleted bumpers, smoothed door handles, Hagan fuel door, power/recessed antenna, power retractable license plate, integration of '37 headlights and flush mount tailights have transformed this Ford into an even more beautiful representation of the era. Only steel and lead have been used by the builder of this thougtfully crafted vehicle which remains more functional than ever. This is no ordinary Fordor!
This is an authentic Ford with clean title and history. A properly built, slightly overbored 302/4bbl V8 is mated to a built C4 transmission delivering power to rear wheels via Corvette independent rear end with fiberglass monospring and 4 wheel disc brakes. This car starts, stops and steers as good as possible with a confident/deliberate feel. Chassis Engineering Inc suspension/chassis components tie the above drivetrain hardware together and things like bump steer/absorbtion, brake bias andd control are not an issue. The Stewart Warner gages work correctly and come with installation instructions and wiring diagrams. Hard to describe the nostalgic, muscular view out the windshield from a very supportive and comfortable S-10 derived bench seat (it's nice to sit close to her!) while looking over the nicely detailed, stock dash while gripping the Grant steering wheel.
We are offering this '36 on behalf of the senior owner/builder. Recently it took first place in the radical street rod category at the Piston/Power show in Cleveland. The owner has decided to part with this '36 to make room for a new build ('64 Ford).
