Vehicle Description
The first-generation Boxster known as the 986, was introduced in
late 1996 as a low-cost roadster designed to broaden Porsche's
appeal and to help keep Porsche afloat during a period of declining
revenues from 911 sales. The car was an immediate success, and in
2000 the Boxster's flat-6 engine was upgraded from 2.5L to 2.7L for
more torque and power, and the Boxster S was released with a 3.2L
engine coupled with a 6 speed manual gearbox cranking around 270hp.
The delight of any Boxster is its mid-engine layout which reduces
the center of gravity and yields a perfect weight distribution
front and rear. The weight balance and hydraulic steering rack make
the handling exquisite in this car, and provides the driver with an
easy ability to hit the apex of any corner while providing a
feeling of turning on rails. With an average 930 miles driven per
year, this Boxster S has been used sparingly over its life and is
one of the lowest mile Boxster S avaiable for sale in the US. It
comes with an Eisenmann exhaust, recent service and 2019 dated
tires. It is ready and willing to engage its next owner in
enjoyable weekend drives, or spicing up the daily commute.
