You want cool? You've got it with this 1971 Chevrolet C10 pickup.
With a high-visibility paint job, a powerful 454 big block V8 and a
luxurious houndstooth interior, they don't come any brighter than
this. It also helps that this one has been expensively refreshed
and carries a practical yet stylish 6-foot bed that can still work
for a living.
If you're looking for a seriously nice 'Action Line' Chevrolet
truck, they don't come much cleaner than this. Hugger Orange (and
white) looks great on anything wearing a Chevy bowtie emblem,
especially something born in the early '70s such as this. The
investment in the sheetmetal is considerable given how nice the
result looks, and the dedication that put this truck together
shows, because the paint job still looks pretty darned good today.
A glance in all the nooks and crannies shows that it was likely a
full cab-off job, because there are no traces of the original paint
to be found anywhere. And thanks to the miracle of modern paints,
it'll probably look this good for decades. Add some bright
stainless trim mixed with the woodgrain, chrome bumpers to break up
all that orange, a neatly lettered tailgate trim panel that looks
traditional, and a bed protected with a spray-in bedliner, and,
well, you have one heck of a truck.
The flashback to the late '60s and early '70s continues inside with
cool white-and-black houndstooth fabric inserts in the white
leather bucket seats. Workmanship is fantastic and once you're
inside, you'll be impressed by the quality of all the materials
used. Matching Cheyenne-style door panels feature that cool Western
scroll, a set of plush black carpets add to the luxury-oriented
vibe, and sharp-eyed viewers will spot details like the original
General Motors AM radio in the center of the dash, although it's
ready for an augmented upgrade if you're looking for some tunes. An
array of factory gauges is included inside the original-style
bezel, and they've been augmented with a set of auxiliary units
that were integrated just below. A factory-style 3-spoke steering
wheel, a reproduction dash pad, and some heavy-duty rubber floor
mats make this a truck that looks great but can be used every day
if that's your thing.
Much of this truck's driving pleasure comes from the 454 cubic inch
V8 fitted between the fenders. It has a cool performance look,
complete with an open-element chrome air cleaner, Chevy Orange
paint, and a set of matching chrome valve covers to make it look
racy. Horsepower is enhanced by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor
and matching aluminum intake manifold, and a set of stock-style
exhaust manifolds help things look just right under the hood. It
runs extremely well, smooth but torquey, and there's a lot of new
equipment so it's ready to eat up some pavement. It's backed by a
stout TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear, so
you don't have to worry about breakage if you actually put it to
work (this would be an awesome tow vehicle for your Camaro!). The
underside is typical of a vehicle that has lived someplace warm,
and has been finished with matching Hugger orange paint for a
uniform look. Power steering and power front disc brakes ensure a
great ride every time out, while the Flowmaster dual exhaust system
underneath sounds deep and throaty. Flashy Ridler wheels set the
aggressive stance, and are fitted with grippy 235/50/18 front and
255/45/20 rear radials that finish the look.
This is a well-built truck with great hardware and a brilliant
paint job. The fact that it can also earn its keep around the house
only makes it easier to get approval for the purchase. Call
