This beautiful 1971 Datsun 510 was modified as a race car back in the 70’s. Originally from Oregon, it maid it’s way to California back in the 90’s. The car was campaigned in the late 90’s at several VARA (Vintage Auto Racing Association) BS class events. The owner (Mr.K) who is a Japanese car collector/master mechanic raced for recreational purposes. Attached is a photo of the VARA log book.
The 510 recently received an overhauled in which the engine, carbs, brakes, clutch, transmission and suspension were taken apart completely. The internal parts were examined to confirm it was all is great working condition. The suspension was rebuilt and it received a new paint job. All this work was completed in 2019.
The 510 is in amazing shape. It features rare quality BRE/Electramotive parts. It has a modified L16 with a 5 speed close ratio transmission, and a rock differential.
This 510 race car is now offered in California on a Bill of sale with records.
