Vehicle Description
1964 Chevrolet Corvette Really fine 1964 Corvette roadster Serial
Number 40867S110064. Purchased this vehicle in 2012 from an
individual in Kansas who had owned it a number of years. That owner
told Harold that the car was an excellent driver and that has
certainly proven to be true. The car had had a ground up
restoration in 2002. The engine (numbers matching) had been pulled
in approximately 2008 and rebuilt. It has had about 5500 miles put
on it since that time. This was one of 25229 Corvettes in 1964 and
only 1 of 2547 with this 250HP engine and 4 speed transmission. The
Muncie transmission (also original to the car) was rebuilt in 2013
(about 3500 miles ago). The car is a wonderful driver and would go
from Ms to Ca with no problems. The owner has updated the car
somewhat with the addition of disc brakes in the front(replacing
the original drum brakes) and with the addition of power
steering. This car was original black. It was painted by the past
owner the current white. It is not possible to tell it was ever any
color but white. The paint is good. The interior is excellent
having been replaced in the restoration some years previous. The
seats had new cushions then and still sit well. All instruments
work, including the clock. The radio operates. The headlight motors
were rebuilt in 2013. The convertible top is excellent as is the
frame. There is no hard top. The car is rust free as is shown on
the photos. The tires have about 3500 miles on them (2013). The
engine was rebuilt about 5500 miles ago. Harold has updated the
engine with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and an Edelbrock
carburetor. The original intake and carb, orange valve covers, twin
snorkel intake and all the ignition shielding go with the car. The
suspension had been rebuilt in 2002 and has had very little use on
it since. This is a beautiful, dependable, stable driver. It
cranks,runs, and drives flawlessly.
