Vehicle Description
This is rolling nostalgia. The 1986 Lincoln Town Car was part of
that popular generation where you or a family member cherished a
full-size luxury machine like this one. And since this example is a
loaded and exceptionally maintained sedan, you can return to that
time with ease.
The Light Taupe sets the tone perfectly for a car of this era and
stature. It has a nice metallic element in the sunlight, and it
also complements the brown pinstripe and vinyl half-roof. It's a
true representation of 1980s style where there's so much to look at
that it almost has affluence in excess. And like any good yuppie,
there's plenty of wealthy jewelry on display, too. So all the trim
is complete, including the distinguished grille, mirror-like
bumpers, classic wire wheel covers, and brightwork that surrounds
every piece of glass. So what was once premium a few decades ago
has aged into a truly dignified presentation on this well-respected
sedan.
While the exterior easily lives up to the premium Lincoln name,
it's the interior where the reputation is really earned. Full-sized
luxury means you can choose to seat six or fold down the armrests
in both rows to give four people individual pillow-tufted comfort.
The velour is in excellent condition because averaging less than
2,300 miles annually means less time for wear. This sedan was built
to keep the driver comfortably in control. So your seat power
adjusts to the ideal position, and all the essential components are
within easy reach. This is loaded power windows, power locks, a
tilt steering column, and cruise control. While this looks like a
time capsule, there are a few worthwhile upgrades. The air
conditioning now blows cold with modern R134a refrigerant. And you
have upgraded driving music with an AM/FM/CD stereo (but purists
will be happy to know the original AM/FM unit comes with the sale,
too.)
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 5.0-liter V8. It's the same
kind of fuel-injected motor that was earning a street-eating
reputation in the Mustang, but this is quite a different setup. It
utilizes its powerful and torquey heart in a more refined way. So
no rumbling burnouts here, but you do get to be the first to pull
away for the stoplight any time you want. In fact, we have $5,000
in receipts over the last two decades to show there has been proper
long term maintenance. It includes everything from big items (like
the brakes and power window motors,) to correct routine pieces
(like the starter, alternator, plugs, and belts.) This history of
care keeps this sedan a dignified luxury machine today. Plus, it
has power steering, front disc brakes, and a four-speed automatic
transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. So it's the kind of
classic luxury that can still easily take you in comfort on the
long road trips.
Complete with owner's manual and maintenance records, this one has
been cared for just like the Town Car from your memories. So when
it's time to reminisce, don't grab a photo album...reach for this
Lincoln instead. Call today!!!
