Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1953 MG TD roadster.
Finished in British Racing Green with a saddle brown interior and
beige canvas top, it's an attractive driver in excellent mechanical
condition. Paint and chrome show minor patina without being shabby;
likewise the canvas top and side curtains are in older but
serviceable condition. Steel wheels with hubcaps are in good shape,
and a rattan basket affixed to the luggage rack adds a nice
functional touch. Interior presents well with good carpets, seat
upholstery, door cards and dash wood.
Under the hood is a 1500 cc engine from a 1963 MGA mated to a
Nissan four-speed transmission from the early 1980s. Current owner
of four years has spent nearly $10k in service work to make it a
reliable driver, including a front-end rebuild, brake job, tune up,
new tires, new clutch and a dash overhaul. Temp and oil pressure
gauges are working, as are all lights, but the speedometer and tach
are inop. This TD starts and runs great, and drives better than
most thanks to the recent front-end and brake work.
Our client also owns a TR6, and he has limited space and time to
enjoy both cars. This MG is a well-sorted example mechanically that
presents as a good driver cosmetically. For more information about
