About Chevrolet's Second Generation Corvette Model:
In the pantheon of noteworthy automobiles, there have been few ever
produced which have proven as significant or as collectable as the
mid-year Chevrolet Corvettes. And among them, the 1964 Corvette
Hi-Perf L76 365 horsepower, 4-speed roadster is quickly becoming
one of the most desirable and most rapidly appreciated examples
available on the collector car market today. This special Chevrolet
327ci V8 was equipped with a hi-lift mechanical camshaft & lifters
and Holley carburetion, while still delivering stirring performance
on the road providing just 10 less horsepower than the fabled L84
Fuelie option. And because a big block was not yet available in
1964, this special performance engine offered a perfect compromise
for sports car buyers not wanting to fork out the extra $431 for
the sometimes finicky fuel injection system. They were beautifully
balanced on the road, and pampered the driver with both performance
and comfort!
