Vehicle Description
Chevy gave the C4 Corvette a grand send off by creating an upgraded
small block engine known as the LT4. It offered more horsepower and
it loved to rev. It was the basis for some cars like the Grand
Sport and Collector Edition models, but a few keen-eye people also
picked up on it for the standard coupe that came in an awesome red
like this. So this 1996 Chevrolet Corvette runs in a very exclusive
crowd, and yet, it can be yours for quite a nice price.
This was the final year for the C4 and the only year you could get
the LT4, so you already know this one is desirable. But there's
much more going on here. After all, the C4 is maturing into one of
the sleekest classics around, and this example shows the right
signs of being treated with care. Clean lines and straight body
panels mean the bright red paint lets the sunlight roll off the car
with a look of quality. And this also has some eye-catching
upgrades. The deeply tinted windows and louvered taillights give
this the right attitude to go with the big dog motor. And the
polished alloys are borrowed from the C6 Corvette to give this one
a unique look without straying from the family bloodlines.
If you like the way the dark tinted glass looks against the red
paint, then you'll love the full black interior. And so this gives
you a great reason to enjoy this 'Vette with the targa top out. The
stylish and grippy bucket seats are all day comfortable. The
revised C4 digital speedometer has matured into an interesting
readout that looks good and works with precision. A premium
Corvette like this means a long list of features, including power
windows, power locks, power mirrors, power driver's seat, electric
rear defogger, dual airbags, ABS, and cold-blowing air
conditioning. You'll spot some nice upgrades like the racing flag
center console pad and coco mats with a cool black and red weave.
Plus, the radio is now an upgraded AM/FM/CD/DVD touchscreen unit
with upgraded subwoofer and Bluetooth. So it's easy to hear your
favorite driving music even when you have the top out and
approaching triple-digit speeds.
The 330 hp LT4 engine boasted a number of improvements, and its
willingness to rev makes it a blast to drive. It's easy to spot
with its red intake manifold on top of this fuel-injected
powerhouse. As one of the best motors of the C4 era, it starts
easily, idles nicely, and runs with gusto. The key to getting the
potent LT4 in a more stand-style Corvette was opting for the new ZF
six-speed manual transmission. So not only did you get more power,
but also you got to fully take control of it. The dual exhaust was
even upgraded to a performance X-pipe setup for a better
high-octane experience. The suspension on the late C4s found the
perfect balance of road carving sports car and highway-mile
cruiser. It's all part of a package that includes power steering,
four-wheel power disc brakes, and grippy ZR-rated tires.
With the ZR-1 gone, the LT4 was the top motor to send off the C4
Corvette in its final year. It's the most desirable 1996 motor
today, and finding a standard Corvette with the LT4 is arguably a
rarer find than a Collector Edition. This is a valuable future
classic available at a driver's car price. You better hurry and
snap this one up as we don't see it staying in our showroom for
long. Call today!!!
