1962 Porsche 356B T6 D'Ieteren Twin Grill Roadster
History: Porsche factory records show original delivery on January 30, 1962, to Porsche Cars Southwest San Antonio, TX. It is purchased out of San Antonio by a Southern California owner, then two additional owners. In the past 20 years it has been in Southern California. Only 248 of the Belgian coach built “D’Ieteren” T6 twin grill roadsters were built. They were the last evolution of the Speedster, Roadster line. The rarest of all the 356 open cars with the technical features of the last series “T6” cars.
Condition: Beautifully restored by Southern California 356 Marque experts 2009-2011. Paint by Jim East Autobody, upholstery by Pete at Prestige. In the original colors of Ivory over brown leather interior with a brown canvas soft top. Engine rebuild by Jim Ansite. Transmission by Neal Appel. Has original sheet metal with VIN# stampings in both doors, front hood, and rear engine lid. Has original date stamped wheels. Optional wood steering wheel with center horn ring. Recent February 2021 engine service and many other items attended to, to include: new rubber seals throughout, four-wheel alignment, steering wheel restoration, new battery, carburetor rework, all fresh fuel, fuel lines. Good records and photographs. Ready for the local car show or a 356 rally.
