Vehicle Description
Numbers-matching V8 power, snowflake alloys, hood shaker, and all
the best options come together on this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans
Am. So take a little extra time getting to know this outstanding
T/A.
These 2nd gen Trans Ams always seem to have an added attraction in
the classic car world. They strike that ideal balance where there
was just a hint of international influence. The long hood and
rounded short rear could have come from the Italians. But that's
not a prancing horse up front; this has bird that scrams fire. And
so this makes sure it's also a true American where each fender is
flared, there are big vents in the sides, and the spoiler is so
large that it extends wider that the trunk's lines. And of course,
there's also a shake hood on top for display. So these cars really
made sure they had flair. That's why a bold Trans Ams like this
always look good in silver...the extra flair on the body deserves a
little more flair in the paint. And the alloys bring the whole
design together. After all, these factory "snowflake" wheels have
an intricate design that could have come from Europe, but we all
know they look the best with meaty raised white-letter tires.
Those T/A birds on the exterior had a touch of red for distinction,
and it only gets better inside with the full red package. It's a
highly original presentation and everything looks very
well-respected. So you'll love the details everywhere from the
hobnail cloth pattern in the seats, to the smooth dash. This has
the right premium features like power locks, power windows, factory
air conditioning converted to R134a (will need servicing to blow
cold again,) and an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo. More than just
comfortable, you are instantly reminded you this is a true sports
car with the grippy sports steering wheel, tilt column,
machine-turned dash panel, and full gauge package with tach/clock
combo.
Under the hood is the original numbers-matching 403 cubic inch V8.
The shaker is there for display and beneath it is a proper
four-barrel carburetor. Newer plug wires and an electronic ignition
help keep this maintained motor a strong runner. And there's always
a nice tune coming out of the car's quad exhaust tips. These motors
are great for big torque, and numbers-matching three-speed
automatic transmission is in tune with the V8 to be first off the
line and give you smooth shifting. Add in power steering, power
brakes w/discs up front, and a rear sway bar, and this silver bird
loves to fly.
Complete with owner's manual, this has distinction and preservation
that make it quite a desirable V8 classic. Call today!!!
