This a LHD (left hand drive) 1961 Series IIA has only 62,000 miles on it. It is the real deal and not a Santana. As the second owner (behind a Jaguar mechanic in Vermont), I have been gradually cleaning it up and driving it. I found it indoors and up on blocks 3 years ago and have loved owning my 3rd Series IIA. There is no rust on this vehicle since it has been meticulously taken care of and stored inside most of its life. This has been the best running LR of all that I have owned featuring a newly-tuned engine with a K&N air filter on it. All original oil bath filter parts are with the vehicle along with the hard top and side panels which have also been (soft) walnut-shell blasted, then polished to achieve an aircraft like finish exposing rivets. I preferred the soft top year round where I live, but the hard top will need weather-striping and a liftgate (above tailgate) which is missing. If you don't like the finish, the body is nearly ready for a paint color of your choice. The body is not perfect showing a nice "patina" in a few spots--which can easily be perfected by annealing the aluminum so it recovers to its original shape. I always preferred the ruff-n-tuff look since original Series I LRs were built with surplus airplane aluminum after WWII. A new alternator (replaced generator) has been installed 30 days ago along with new Gabriel shocks all the way around. The vehicle sits perfectly flat unlike some of my last LRs which were leaning toward the passenger side. Tires are one season old and perfectly new BFG KO2s including the spare mounted on the bonnet. New upholstery, canvas side pockets on doors and side windows were installed last year. Lots of little improvements include new door hinges, seat belts and a 2 year old Exmoor canvas top with hoop system. A brand new (used once to pull my Chevy truck out of the snow) Warn winch sits on the front as does a new steering stabilizer. All receipts from Rovers North and my local mechanic are available. This uniquely and perfectly running vehicle resides in Carson City, Nevada. Reasonable offers will be considered.
